Reduce, reuse, recycle, repurpose...

...renew, upcycle - whatever you call it, making the old into new is a passion of mine.

'I Should Have Listened to Mom' cafe curtains

discarded wine bottles and glasses into table art,

cigar boxes into keepsakes,

empty paint tubes, beer bottle caps, vintage hair clips and outdated costume jewellery into paintings

wine and beer bottle caps into gardens,

torn and pages-missing soft cover books into a table sculptures,

and the list goes on and on.  My passion  obsession for making the most of things means that I look at everything with an assessing eye, knowing it could be something entirely different.  (Don't worry, John, you're safe . . . so far.)

Word has it that there is going to be a Trashion show here in town in May, where artists are encouraged to turn trash into fashion.  Anybody got any used dryer sheets they can spare? I feel some new clothes coming on.

    1. Thanks, Mia - I so much enjoy playing with things that would otherwise turn up in landfill. It's so satisfying in so many ways! I'll be watching for your 'empty paint tube art', my friend!

  2. Great work Win. There is just one problem! I keep collecting this stuff and it's filling my loft space, just can't throw anything away. You could simply take the curtains down and repurpose them again, all be it for a short time and put elastic through the top and use it as a skirt. Multi purpose product Lol! Happy crafty thoughts, Angela xXx

    1. I howled with laughter when I read this, Angela - we must be sisters from another mother. :D I had the same idea about the curtains and if I could bear to take them down, I'd do exactly that - likely with a painted dryer sheet belt to hold them up!

    1. I have to say I'm with you on the dryer sheet curtains, if only for their improbability, Deann! I worries me a bit that I am thinking of making another set, and perhaps a skirt, and maybe who knows what. Sending you massive hugs, my super-creative mirror! xo

    1. Well if it gets done, Corrie, you know I won't be modelling it. :D While I can imagine making a short skirt, my legs no longer flatter them...and I suspect a long skirt would be a much larger project that I'd want to tackle.
