It's so tiny...

...I can hardly hold it safely!  These mini accordion books are a lot of fun to make and will be great additions to a parcel or a small Christmas tree.

Rather than do a host of photos to show you a finished product, I made a couple of extremely short (they ARE, after all, very tiny) videos.

The first is a black and white mini book just over an inch square(ish).

I started with an accordion book, tied it all together, added chopped bits of white on black drawings and some text.  It just makes me smile.

And in case you think I've lost my taste for colour, take a look at the cover of this mini 'Life' book.  Subtle, no?

I love the whole concept of these tiny books - comprised of a strip of paper, a few leftover paper scraps, and some imagination, they are not only fun to create, but a joy to receive.

What are you up to in the pre-Christmas crazy time?  Making, shopping, baking, running flat out?  I hope you're taking some creative time - do share in your comments below!

  4. So so cute I love miniature stuff and these are adorable. I used to make doll house miniatures and little face necklaces out of FIMO, and sell them in our poverty years. Your books are so well done they are a delight.

    1. Thanks, Deann - I'm currently fascinated by these wee things - do you think it's a holdover from becoming a grandmother? Whatever the reason, I can see there may be more in my future, especially given the fact that my studio will be considerably downsized when we relocate!

  5. These are just perfection Win, love them to bits. Thanks for your lovely comment over at mine but I have to say I have been tidying the desk because I seem to have lost Mr Mojo at the moment, think it's the Christmas things that have been distracting me so hope he pops back soon. Sending hugs, Angela xXx

    1. Many thanks, Angela - and I totally understand about the Christmas-time disappearance of your Mr. Mojo - mine is barely peeking in these days as I wind up for the season. Maybe eggnog required? :D

  6. A wee tiny little gem of a book! We grasp the small rather delicately, the better to preserve each tiny portion for future viewing.
I do love to make books! Yours is splendid, Win! I've been impressed by your past successes at making art books. Any plans to make a tutorial?

  10. What gorgeous creations, perfect in their tininess! Love them both.

In the pre-Christmas scramble I'm busy making the giveaway boxes for our Christmas Day service and looking forward to the baking for later this week. At least I don't need to make 400 cookies this year 😌 And of course, that was the year that my cooker broke down a couple of days before Christmas...

All the blessings of the season to you and yours. Thank you for your encouragement this year.

    1. That's definitely on my list, Jackie, as I go into overdrive on these tiny books...I've just finished his 'First Christmas' ornament, with his first hand-crafted book to come. Wishing you luck on the baking, especially given it has to be shipped west! Hopefully your postal service is much faster than Canada Post! :D Merry Christmas, my totally artsy friend! xo
