Are the costumes floating around your neighbourhood? I hope you'll enjoy them, whenever they appear. They've not started yet, but we're prepared for all sorts of fun. Even the trees look a little spooky in daylight, so you can imagine what the witches and warlocks will make of them this evening!
There are spirits appearing in the wild canvas,
and the landscape there is changing by the moment.
While it's not clear what's going on, there is definitely something in the shadows.
The floral spread has received some colour, and these blooms are like nothing I've seen in 'the real world'.
And what looked like a landscape has obviously been visited by some other beings.
Only the Christmas cards look anything like normal, I'd say.
I'll be checking your blogs for any hints of the supernatural, and, in the meantime, wish you a spooky Halloween. Happy week, all!
Win I love your maple tree a so prefect in the fall. Your ode to black really does reflect to Halloween spirit with ghosties and goblins and things that go bump in the night, move like phantoms around the canvas.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deann - may your day of Halloweening include fun with those grandkids and just the right amount of ghosties, goblins and night bumpers. :D
DeleteThe maples are golden yellow near you, it's lovely, a bit of sunshine on a grey day... It's when the trees have lost all their leaves and look dead that they're a bit scary, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI'm in awe of what happens to paint covered in black, your scraping is fabulous and uncovers hidden wonders. The close-ups are beautiful and the overall effect is amazing. I can see a group of children in the background in front of a log fire, releasing balloons, watched over by a forest genie.
The flowers seem to evolve into something aquatic, distorted by the currents between two waters.
As for the neon pink, you've finally done something great! Well done!
I hope you enjoy making Christmas cards, because it's quite a job! Krkrkr!
And if you're celebrating Halloween, I hope you have an evening full of fun, laughter and surprises.
All the best and kisses my friend.
You're right about those maples, Sim - they're stunning right now.
DeleteThe scraping back is fascinating to watch, and the whole piece takes on a different flavour with each scratch. I love your vision of the children watched by a forest genie.
Here's to a happy Halloween for you if you're celebrating. May the costumes and children you see bring much joy! xoxox
Been out most of the day crafting with a friend and did see some spooky looking skeletons on the way home. Your shadowy art work definitely looks a bit scary too and I believe I can see someone or something moving in the shadows, love it. Happy Halloween, Angela xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Angela, and I'm glad to hear that you encountered some skeletons over there. John, my hubby, emigrated from the Norfolk area many years ago, and says at that time, Halloween was not a thing (but Guy Fawkes certainly was, he says with emphasis). ;-)
DeleteInteresting things are definitely emerging on that canvas! There seems to be a family watching from the shadows - I wonder what story they could tell. I love all the scratchy marks and can't wait to see where it ends up.
