...yellow! We'll all be glad the 3 x 4 is not staying like this for long. 🤣
I promise it will get toned down once the rest of this layer is added. It really creates a contrast, though, doesn't it?
I've been slowly working on addition all across the board,
and eventually I'll get to the point where I can continue with a full layer of all-over colour.
I've got some Typar place markers to indicate some of the large areas that will be dealt with, so progress is being made, if only in my mind.
It was fun this week to enjoy a morning with Eileen and Laura as we played together in the studio. Funny how we were all working on organics.
I got a good couple of hours in on Christmas cards - I'm sure it's hard to tell what this year's theme is from the photo. 😉
And the grandchildrens' ornaments will take shape this week, now that they are gessoed for play.
All in all, it's been a fun studio week - how about yours?
A full layer of overall colour. That is going to be interesting to see. When do you know it’s time?
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm using those place markers to check for interesting patterns which will be highlighted when another layer of colour is added...that'll be the deciding factor, unless I change my other mind. 😂
DeleteWin my friend I am certainly glad that you know where your 3'X4' is going because, just when I do I find myself lost and wandering amongst the stars and leaves. I don't know where we will arrive in the end but I know it will be fantastic. Birthday cards AND Christmas Ornaments for your Grandkids, I will just have to step up my game.
ReplyDeleteThis week I am trying to come up with an affordable Thanksgiving craft to entertain 10 kids from 7 to 22...wish me luck.
Win sitting here looking at your snowflake ornaments I thought we could decorate snowflakes ornaments. Not too hard, fun and everyone likes them. You are brilliant! and I wish you every good thing.
Well, I know in my mind where it's going, but goodness knows whether that will actually happen! 🤣 There can be many a slip twixt the cup and lip, and I spend a good deal of my life running on banana peels.
Delete10 'kids' from 7 to 22 and you're planning a craft?! I'd say those snowflakes would be just the thing to do if you have enough scissors! Chop and cut away, and you can hang them throughout the house. I seem to make them every winter; I'm endlessly fascinated by the ways in which cuts can change paper into beauty, and like the real snowflakes, there are no two the same.
Happy week to you, my friend, with much anticipation as you head towards your Thanksgiving, craft ideas buzzing around your head. xoxo
Whoa! That's a bright yellow for first thing in the morning. It certainly woke me up :) It's great to have photos of all the stages as the final piece is often so unlike what went before, although each layer and motif adds to the whole. Looking forward to seeing which colour you choose as a full layer.
ReplyDeleteAnd Christmas cards!! I've given up on those in the last few years. The time just gets away from me with all the other preparations that need to be made, and I have to be organised enough to send them months in advance to get there on time. Plus it's summer here, which still doesn't feel right for Christmas even after many years.
I'll bet your eyes were bleeding when you opened the post up Tracy! 🤣 Terrible thing to do to you I do like having progress photos, I agree. It's a good thing to look back and figure out how one got where they finished. 😉
DeleteLittle wonder that you have no time to do Christmas cards; this season is so busy for your and your husband, I wonder how you manage to find time to eat and sleep. Sending you tons of energy for Christmas (and thoughts of snow, too!). 💗
Wow! that's a lot of colour! Look forward to seeing how this progresses. Pleased you had a good time crafting with your friends too. I think it's pretty obvious where you're going with the Christmas cards Lol! Have a good weekend. Hugs, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteColour, indeed, Angela! And given that we're doing the twinsy thing with Christmas theme this year, I just knew you'd pick that up right away! 🤣 Big hugs, my friend, and happy week to you.
DeleteI was only thinking about that this week, need to get your card sent soon to make sure the postman gets it to you in plenty of time x
DeleteYup - I'm hoping to get yours off soon as well...one never knows how these overseas cards will do in the two mail services! ;-)
DeleteWhenever I visit your blog, I always know I'll be in for glorious colour explosion! Loving the fern leaf prints and the snow flakes look wonderful too - and what a great idea for Christmas cards! Happy November, Win! xx
ReplyDeleteLovely to see you here gain, Zsuzsa...and that means I can pop over to see some of your lovely work, too! Happy November right back to you, with creativity in abundance. Hugs, Win
