As the stacks...

... pile higher on the studio tables

and the actual work is minimal,

I confess to playing more hooky than I did as a child.  Truthfully, the valley is so stunning in its range of colour that I can hardly bear to be inside.

As I bask in the splendour of autumn, I wonder how and when that birthday painting will get done for the near-six-year-old, and if Christmas cards will be finished by the elves -  or at all.

Procrastination rules in the Creston valley this week.  How's it going in your part of the world?

  1. Win, don't you just adore Autumn. The pictures you have posted are amazing. For me the colors are unbeatable I just enjoy it so much. Last week we took a hundred mile trip up one canyon and down another. As joke my husband and I started Oohing and Aweing every time we saw something beautiful. Well we Oohed and Awed our way through the whole trip, it was glorious. I posted a few pictures on my blog because I just had to share.
I hope you are enjoying the season. Best wishes and hugs to you my friend.

    1. It is pure glory, and this year seems more than that, even! I'm grinning at the thought of you and your husband ooooohing and aaaaaaahing through that trip. I can well imagine that, and understand why! Enjoying the season? Definitely! Sending hugs, my friend!

  2. Looks like a desk in waiting today but you have to make the most of the weather while it's so nice. The weather here has been cooler and very dull today but dry, good for gardening though. I'm sure you'll get round to completing the birthday painting soon, Christmas cards will just have to wait a while. Sending hugs, Angela xXx

    1. So true about making the most of the weather...too soon the ice and snow will keep us indoors, and the studio will be a haven. In the meantime, sunshine beckons, as does the great outdoors! Happy week, my friend!

  3. Loving that autumn colour. No wonder you're enjoying being out in the fresh air, especially after your warm and smoky summer. Our spring is blooming with colour in the botanic gardens that we are blessed to have just a 15 min stroll away.
Not much art happening in this corner of the world, either - extra days in the bookshop and editing my husband's assignment - but I did cut out a couple of items ready for sewing so it wasn't a complete bust.

    1. The cool autumn air and glorious colour IS a welcome relief after fire season, and I'm sure you know that feeling well in your part of the world as well.

Glad to hear that you have some sewing on the go - hope we can see it when you're back into it. Happy week, my friend!
