It may not have been...

...a highly productive week in the studio, but I've managed at the least to get some juicy thoughts on the tables.

Owen's  fifth birthday is coming up soon, and his request this year for his birthday painting is Pikachu.  If you're as cartoon-challenged as am I, the link will give you an explanation.  šŸ˜‰

I found a painted cheesecloth in the studio that will be a great experiment with more GAC400 for a little larger vase.  Wish me luck!

I've finished two of the five signatures in my mini collage 'travel ' journal.  I'd say it's time to get the other two done, don't you think?

I've half a dozen watercolour sheets (12 x 16") being pressed, for some Tracy Verdugo Playful Painter lessons.  I'm feeling anticipatory to the max.

And I've got one ready to go just as soon as I can find the mojo and time!

I'm auditioning some elements for a painting, and being totaly underwhelmed by this look.  Thinking, thinking, thinking.

Our July was so lovely, I've been spending more time outside, and less in the studio.  I thought you'd enjoy seeing some of our surroundings.

Our sunrises have been glorious recently,

and the combination of sunshine and rain have made the gardens particularly glorious.  It almost makes me want to take up gardening in my spare time.  šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ˜…

Sending you wishes for an outstanding August and a gentle leadup into fall - another beautiful season.  Happy creating, however you're doing it!

    1. Many thanks, Gwen - those covers are alcohol ink, and that medium is really hard to match for glorious colour!!

  2. Win, It sounds to me like you are suffering from the same Summer blahs I am. It's like, Help me I have 40 things I should do, I kinda want to do....But it's 101*F so I'll just sit here and think about it for awhile...lol
You at least have the gumption to start on it.
Your flowers and view are gorgeous. Which reminds me, I should go out and water my garden. ugh...lol
Best wishes my friend and inspiration to move forward. And lots of big hugs

    1. Here's to some major inspiration. I think that will be something to think about, maybe tomorrow. 🤣 I can well imagine the heat doesn't help. We're fortunate that our summer has been the coolest in at least five years (so far) and will keep our fingers crossed that it remains that way.

May your garden be glorious, inspiration be huge, and productivity arises in (handleable) increments. Sending massive hugs, my friend!

  3. I know of Pikachu but nothing about it, I'm sure the children love it. Look forward to see the progress with the cheesecloth and the travel journal. Beautiful photo of the clouds too, so much gorgeous colour. Have a great week, what's left of it. Hugs Angela xXx

  4. Those are perfect Pikachu colours, Win. I live in a home with two graphic novel/anime/Pokemon enthusiasts so stand no chance of being unaware of all things 'cartoon' 🤣
I'm looking at that cheesecloth and can see that you will probably draw some inspiration from that sunrise - gorgeous!
Keep enjoying the summer weather and your beautiful surroundings.

    1. I'm always amused at the requests from the grandchildren for their birthday paintings - it allows me to explore some previously-unknown artwork. And there you are, living with two enthusiasts in the house!

I'm loving that cheesecloth colour, of course, but this vase is an experiment in size and shape, so the results may not do justice to them. And isn't that the fun or experimentation?

And here's to your wintry Australia and cooler weather. I know you always live in enjoyment of your locale, so happy hugs to you!
