I've been feeling a bit cheesie...

...but not the eating kind.  I mentioned last week that I hoped to get some more cheesecloth thingies made, and while not completely finished I did have some fun.  The warm side of the spectrum produced this cloth,

and then I did it with blues and yellows for a cooler look.

I always enjoy the textural aspect left on the butcher paper when things are dried,

so I poured some Clear Tar Gel on top of that and waited for it to dry.  I lifted the circle of plasticy goodness, and added it to a tag to finish later.

I started another vase, and while it's looking a gloppy mess right now, I think it's going to be rather pretty when dried.

I've got some lovely blue/green textural play coming up with the leftovers on that butcher paper too,

and have already started another blob with the Clear Tar Gel.

Of course, I'm not 'supposed' to be doing this at all - I've several projects on the go, and some of them have deadlines to be managed.  Please send all Anti-Procrastination Energy my way, so I get back on track with things that really need doing.  In the meantime, I'll be over here drooling over cheesecloth texture and the infinite possibilities it contains!  Happy creative week to you all.

  1. My dear, you are totally amazing. You are the only person I know who can make things out of things, out of things! And who the heck ever heard of "Clear Tar Gel" when what it can do is so cool. YOU that's who.
Heaven knows what projects you have been procrastinating. Here are my thoughts on that. "Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time."
So rock on, with your lovely cheese cloth and I'll be back next week to see the results. Best wishes, and big hugs from here. Deann
p.s. Stop and actually eat some cheese once in awhile.

    1. Oh, darn - now I've got the munchies for extra old cheddar (perhaps accompanied by a cracker and a glass of crisp white wine ☺️).

And I do agree about there being no wasted time, but I will definitely need to get back to at least one project tomorrow!

As far as the gel goes, I admit to being a medium-junky when it comes to Golden products...I have so many different kinds and textures it's hard to settle on just one when I'm playing.

Happy week to you, Deann, and thanks for all your lovely gorgeousness on your page. You make my day so often! xo

  2. I absolutely understand this obsession as I've had one myself recently as you know however, I do think that when you find something that "floats your boat" you have to push it as far as you can, you never know where you may end up. This is where you have to take control and plan your time so that other things have a chance of getting finished too. Now it's easy for me to say this but it's not to say I follow my own instructions Lol! You might want to give it a try though. Hugs Angela xXx

    1. Thanks for that push, Angela, so I promise to get back to the urgent project before I return to my cheesy life. :D Big hugs, my anti-procrastinator friend!

  3. Don't you just love when the incidental surfaces where you've been doing something else turn out just yummy, too? No wastage! Your procrastination is just so colourful and creative, Win :)

  4. Thanks, Tracy, and I so agree about the surface pieces. I've some blue jean templates I can hardly bear to use, they're so lovely. I may have to frame them as a series one of these days. 🤣 Here's to creative procrastination, my friend! ;-)
