...creates some major issues in the studio, because we have so much fun I inevitably forget to take photos. That certainly happened this week when we had a morning gel plate party, and all I have is photos of some of the results.
The next two photos were a result of three layers of heart masks on a first print
and then on a ghost print.
And I love the results on the masks...they're just beautiful in their own right, so I didn't bother washing them clean.
I used a hand-crafted foam plate for this print,
and I love how the foam plate looks after it was used!
The first print with this commercial stencil is lovely,
as is the ghost print. Best of all I used Hansa Yellow Light and Manganese Blue hue so they will work well with the stack of blue/ green/yellow papers I made a month or so ago specifically for collage.
I used a piece of construction something or other to create this grid, and both prints intrigue me.
Then I imprinted the grid itself on a slightly-used piece from the annals of history, and really like this grid as well.
The morning was instigated because some of the friends wanted to do some leaf printing. I forgot to take any photos of those results (of course), so had to quickly run out for a couple of leafs for this print. I'm loving the colour and sketchiness of it, which happened because of some accidental water splotches on the plate. Love those accidents, except that duplicating them is next to impossible.
I'm not sure how many layers there are on this print, but the colours and abstract feel just make me so happy.
We created many prints, and a messy drying floor to boot...all in all, it was a great playtime.
No gel print here, but I'm really liking the patterns at Good Company Coffee.
May your week have been filled with creative fun and laughter!
Your geli prints are so joyful. Inspiring ♥️
ReplyDeleteMany thanks...colour play and printing are just the best combo!!
DeleteHi Win, Hearts, color and friends my favorite things. And you are the fabulous lady that brings them all together.
ReplyDeleteThere is such a big difference between your art and mine. And we share it in different ways. Your artwork can be shared with a friends party. And mine is created alone and shared in online challenges.
We both have thousands of pieces of art. Mine is stored online and has to be printed. Heaven knows where you store all of yours the thought amazes me. You are so much more prolific then me.
I am happy that we both find so much joy in our creativity and in our friendship. Wishing you all the best, and much joy as you create your beautiful art. Big hugs from me. Your sister in art. Deann
We are truly sisters in art, Deann. While our processes are totally different, we share and save it in disparate ways and create differently, our underlying love for creating is exactly the same. And I believe that we gain our sanity and personal power from our obsession with fashioning ideas from the ether and bringing them to form.
DeleteLong may we live in the joy of creating and sharing our love for it. And sending big hugs back to you. I'm so wishing we could do that in person one day. 💗💖❤️
I love that thought of a Gel plate party. I love using them but put it off continually because once I start I don't know when to stop and end up with paper and card everywhere. Now that is not a good reason for not using the Gel plate I hear you say. I've got to be brave and get them out again soon. Happy crafting. Hugs Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteBang on, Angela, and no, it's not a good reason for avoiding the gel plate. 😄You know I'm sending you brave energy and gel plate vibes. Happy creating and pile up those prints! :D
DeleteGetting together with others to experiment and create always sparks ideas. Liking those pink leaves!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely agreed about sparking ideas - the trick is to find the time to follow them all. :D
