...getting back into the studio after a month and a half of the summer busy-ness. You have to love those long, light days and the family visits that brighten the summer, especially when we're smack dab in the middle of pretty much nowhere. That means we get little in the way of winter company. 😉
The challenge of leaving the studio empty for so long means that there's not much in the way of progress being made on any projects. To get back into the groove, I've been working on small bits of things including the start on a journal page,
a sketch for a grandson's birthday painting,
and an August prompt (creating poetry from a torn book page). It makes me laugh that the favourite part of this is the torn edge of the page.
Hi Win, pleased to see yoiu back as I've missed you being around. We have been busy though emptying my mum's house now she is definitely staying in the care home but that's done now so I know what you mean about getting back into the arty stuff. I kept trying to do a bit when we were at home but my head wasn't in it all the time which is why I spent some time just playing with the Masterboards but with no original thoughts about what they would be used for but it worked and I'm getting back into it again and I'm sure you will too. Thanks for the lovely comments over at mine. Big hugs, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteI've missed stopping by to see all my friends, too, Ang and was delighted to see your new Masterboard creations. Glad to know that your mom is settled and that you've managed to empty the house. I know that's a challenging job, and difficult to think about anything else while it's in progress. Happy creating going forward, my friend. xo
DeleteJust noticed, have you changed your email address, this is not the same as the one I have?
ReplyDeleteBoth dinn.win@gmail.com or windinn@telus.net will reach me, Ang.
DeleteIt’s great you have small projects at the ready for getting back into the studio.
ReplyDeleteSlowly easing back into things, and thank goodness for the lack of pressure from the muse! ;-)
DeleteGood to see you in your happy place. I am looking forward to fall and organizing my art room after my move to Creston. You are always an inspiration. I look forward to more of your inspiration
ReplyDeleteI know your garden is your happy place in the summer, so getting to that organization of your studio will be a bit delayed. In the meantime, I can enjoy your wonderful garden photos from my own studio!
DeleteIt's lovely to see family and friends, but so good when they go home, too! It made me laugh that you like the torn edge of your 'found poetry' best - torn edges make me so happy :) I'm sure it won't be long before you're back in the groove, Win.
ReplyDeleteYes, on all counts, Tracy...and who could resist torn edges???!!! 😂
DeleteHi Win, I just made it back from our family get together too. You haven't lost your touch. I really love that torn edge poetry how clever. and so is that birthday card. Now I've got to sit here and get my ducks back in a row and my brain back in the groove. Have a wonderful week. Hugs, Deann
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely the time of the year for family visits, isn't it? And how wonderful that is, given we can savour the memories all winter. Happy getting-back-in-the-groove, m'lady. May all go smoothly and the Muse grace your computer and mind! xoxo
