...our first rainy day after some days of very over-the-top-hot sunshine, so I've been playing in the studio with great glee. And you know that means some more B & W journal play.
These are not all done by any means, but the bones are all these, and I'm busy rattling them!
How about you - what are you all up to? I'm looking forward to hearing how your week has been.
Hi Win, this is a great start to your journal pages. I would like to be able to complete a page in one go but it never happens but putting something on the page seems to get the ball rolling. Have a lovely creative weekend. Hugs, Angela xXx
Like you, Angela, just getting the first layers down seems to give me impetus to continue working. And of course, all journal pages seems to be works in progress....some of them never get finished. :D
Gorgeous start to your pages, Win. Very inspiring, my friend. Especially the spread with the butterflies. As I always add the butterflies as last embellishments and never in the start, I am curious to see the finished spread. Hugs, my dear friend. PS: Yesterday it was a raining day in Greece too (I live in Athens). So much fun as it is summer!
Thanks, Mia. I have, for years, worked background to foreground, and recently have found myself occasionally working in the opposite direction in order to 'challenge the rut'. It's interesting, challenging and oft times crazy-making. :D We'll see how this goes, won't we?!!! Happy rainy-day summertime, Mia!
I just love your black based art. It's one of my favorite backgrounds because it shows every thing off so splendidly. I particularly love your "Take Flight" page it's gorgeous and I think that is what we would all like to do at this point. Beautiful work all. I got spoiled on my little vacation last weekend we had such a great time, now I have cabin fever. But I am hurrying to catch up with all my art challenges so that helps a bunch. Take care of you and enjoy the rain, everything is burning down here for lack of it. Hugs, Deann
Hi, Win, thanks for your visit to and comment on my recent blog post. Both are appreciated! I have sort of been in slow motion recently, so your beginning journal pages here are a great boost for me too! How about, "Get it in Gear!" lol
I do understand that slo-mo thing; it seems difficult to get it gear in these times with all the uncertainly around us. Getting into the studio can be a challenge at the least. Looking forward to seeing your next project - those cards are such a treat!
We're still waiting for some rain here! Good to hear you got some and there's nothing more idyllic than playing away in your studio when it's raining outside! Loving all those pages - the one with the vintage photos must be my favourite! xx
I love those vintage photos; the woman in the wheelbarrow was my aunt, and somehow I wound up with a huge pile of photos of her and friends. While most of them were taken in Britain, these two were in Banff, Alberta, Canada, and their playfulness just made me smile.
Many thanks, Sim - it's really been a pleasure to work in the black and white format in this small journal. Adding layer after layer when I think I'm finished is even more fun!
Ramp up your playtime - YES!! So much encouragement here, Win, but that's no surprise 😊 Enjoy your weekend, my friend.
ReplyDeleteI do think that all these years of focusing on playfulness is finally having an effect, Tracy. :D

Thanks, Deann - I'm so with you on the way that black backgrounds make things pop.
DeleteI'm glad you had a great time with your fam last weekend, and catching up with your challenges will help ameliorate the fact that you're missing them.
Sending you the thought of rain, if nothing else...our one day of it was a welcome relief, I must say. Happy weekend, my friend. xo

Not possible, I missed as many !?

Each page is pure joy!
