It has been a wild month...

...what with doing the 21 Day Challenge with Jesse Elder.  It's been quite some time since I've done a personal growth course, and this one was beyond amazing/engaging/deep/challenging.  The energy was palpable, which led, of course, to a new painting.  It started here with a plastic wrap start on a long narrow canvas, and morphed to this:

21 Energy Rising© Win Dinn    Acrylic on canvas 8" x 24"
It's like trying to photograph quicksilver with all the foil bits in there (Meg, I'm blaming that on you!), but I thought you might like to see some closeups anyway.

And sometime this week I tore into making another quick video tutorial that demonstrates a couple of ways (smooshing and cheesecloth painting) to use up those bits of leftover paint on your palette at the end of your painting session:

While you're watching it, please subscribe to my channel and encourage all your friends to do so...I'm on a mission to use up all the leftovers in the world (I can hear my mother talking; can you?).

Just in case you're looking for some more tutorials, I encourage you to check out my tutorial page at the top of the blog.  There are links to videos and other tutorials that can get those creative play juices trackin' like a freight train.

That's it for me this week - what have you been up to?  Let me know in the comments below, and feel free to share a link to your post to do a show and tell.

    1. Thanks, Zsuzsa, both for the painting and the video comment. I love the excitement in that soundtrack as well - he's (see end credits) a fantastic Russian composer.

  3. Hi Win, these are 'Red Hot' fabulous colours. Oh and yes I will be using the technique again that I used on the bag probably for a card and I've started taking photographs of the stages in making so yes you will get a tutorial. Happy creative week, Angela xXx

    3. Wouldn't that be lovely thing, Angela - I've been waiting for a teleportation machine since they first aired Star Trek oh-so-many-years-ago! We'd have SO much fun. Hugs from Canada, my friend.

    1. I agree on all counts, Laura, and while well out of my comfort zone, it certainly speaks to the challenge. :D

  6. The colours are so vibrant........... my first thoughts was the fires we had during the summer, then a bond fire and I could actually hear the crackling. I agree, there is so much movement. Stunning❣️

    1. Many thanks, Esme...it was fun to do, and as you can tell, a high energy piece. It reminded me, too, of the fires this summer, and a host of other fire-related happenings in my life. Lots to process. ;-)

  8. Simply gorgeous, your "Energy Rising" painting reminds me of our fabulous red rock canyons, your paintings have such great texture and vivid color. I enjoyed all your smooshing and squirting on Youtube I didn't have time to watch everything but rest assured I will return.
This week I have been enjoying the Autumn colors and mourning their quick demise but It occurred to me that if they were around long term they would soon become commonplace and unappreciated. God knows best.
Have a Happy Halloween do you do Halloween in Canada? Either way have a Happy.

    1. Thanks for you kind words, Deann, and for stopping by to check out and subscribe to my channel - lovely to see you there! You're absolutely right about the fall colour; it would soon lose its lustre if that were our only season. On a road trip yesterday to visit my grandson for his first birthday in Kelowna, I could see the larch trees here in their glory, with the formerly deep green needles now turned to a flaming orange. The needles will drop within days and the landscape will lie dormant until the spring greening. Won't we be excited, once again, about another colour palette?!
