We (that's me, my students, friends, art buddies and studio visitors) use this scrap box for a host of things - tags, greeting cards, bookmarks, art journaling and more. It's rather like digging for buried treasure.
And just in case you thought I'd been spending too much time drooling instead of playing, here are a few of the current in-progress pieces.
The plastic wrap from last week is now sporting some foil - more (something) to come, no doubt! |
Love is not what the mind thinks, but what the heart feels. Greg Evans, Cartoonist |
If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart; I'll stay there forever. Winnie the Pooh, A. A. Milne |
...and a whimsical journal spread |
What's happening in your studio this week? Journals/cards/paintings/etc., or resting? Keep me posted in the comments below!
Well, dear Win Dinn, you created plenty of tiny accidental treasures!
ReplyDeleteEach one more precious than the other...
And the current in-progress pieces look inspirational!
I still love a lot the 'Plastic Wrap' one.
Keep on creating marvels my friend!
(If you want the pink 'Mucha' without writing, signing.. and in 300 DPI just tell me! :)
Many thanks for your kind remarks, Sim. I've already added your lovely Mucha piece to my screen saver, and the current DPI is just perfect, thanks! I'll be shining happiness from my eyes very time it comes around. xo
DeleteLove your bits and pieces ............... first one is my favourite, think it might be the texture ❣️❣️
ReplyDeleteYup, I'm all over that one, too, Esme. It's a snippet of alcohol ink-abused white on white wallpaper.....yummmmmmmmmmmmm! :D
DeleteWhat fun bits of colour you have to play with Win - enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSo true, Val, and I most certainly do! :D
DeleteHi Win, I am still drooling over all the gorgeous pieces that arrived in that gorgeous envelope which I am thinking will make a rather nice book cover. I am determined not to let those gorgeous papers end up in a folder waiting to be used. I promise you will see me use them as soon as I pluck up the courage to do it!!!! Have a great fun and creative weekend, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteI'll be watching your blog to see what comes of those pieces, Angela - I love that you've enjoyed receiving the parcel!
DeleteAah more beautiful bounty...I love it and your wonderful love quotes.
ReplyDeleteThis week at my place it's all about Birthdays birthdays, birthdays, 12 Grandkids college, soccer, la Cross, flag football and oh yes Halloween we can hardly wait. So glad they live close by but it keeps one running.
Hopefully I can sneak a little art in, in the mornings.
Sounds like you're up to your eyeballs in family and fun, Deann - I'm never sure how you manage to create such glorious pieces! Loved checking out your blog this week, as usual, and look forward to more of the same. xo
DeleteThese are all delightful Win, but, I have a favorite.....it's the fourth one from the bottom. It speaks so perfectly to autumn pleasures.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laura, and I'm in total agreement about that fall feeling!
DeleteI find close-ups of small areas of larger works fascinating (I have one from one of my art journal pages as the desktop for my laptop.) Each little piece is an artwork in itself with wonderful colours and textures. Scrap boxes can be such a treasure trove. I just love that first one - like looking down on a landscape.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea to use macro shots of your art for your desktop, Tracy. I often forget to take close-ups of my artwork, and I must remember to do so more often. I love that first bit of wallpaper, too...must be time to do some more of those!
Deleteahhhh scraps beautiful scraps! I just went through and used quite a few of my own as well! See we don't always ,just hoard! heeheee
ReplyDeleteAt this time, I am working on more atcoins, a Halloween piece and a miniature vignette, can you say cuckoo? that's me! heehee
Sending hugs my colorful, clever friend! Jackie xx
We're all cuckoo, aren't we, Jackie?!! Your coins are marvellous and I can hardly wait to see the Halloween piece and vignette! Artists truly have the most interesting lives...we get to play in the paintbox every day, bend realities and bathe in colour. What could be better than that?! xo
DeleteWe do hoard our beautiful scraps - but often we forget them...lo. Me too! Wonderful buts and pieces - so vibrant!
ReplyDeleteAnd the LOVE pages and the spread are so beautiful and artsy
I loved your plastic wrap technique tutorial video - great!

You made my day Win Dinn!
