There it went again...

...and we're into July already!  How did that happen?

It's been a lovely week, starting with a lovely morning coffee on the deck at Good Company Coffee , an outstanding spot overlooking orchards and vineyards just down the road from us.  John says they have the best hot chocolate ever, and had two cups to prove it.

We enjoyed the Farmer's Market, and scored these lovely sweet peas.  Now the house smells like my grandfather's garden, and what could be happier than that?

An early morning sunrise was a great place to spot some birdsong through the window.  The sky was a truly lovely background, don't you think?

And of course there was time to play in the studio with more collages-in-progress in the mini travel journal.

As I did last week, I stuck to two or three different papers, and simple formats.  Goodness knows how they'll end up, though!  Or even when, come to think of it - the summer is so lovely it's constantly calling me outside to play.

I hope your summer (or winter in that other half of the world) is progressing as it should, with sunshine, creativity, and pure, unadulterated joy.

    1. It's been such lovely weather so far that I'm feeling even more than usually blessed to live in the Creston Valley, surrounded by orchards, vineyards and mountains.

Thanks for the kudos on the collages; I'm having great fun filling the signatures for the journal, and adding inked elements will be even more so over the winter.

Sending big hugs and all good things right back to you, my friend. May we have a chance to meet in person one day! xo

  4. Loving your art work today, all the colours and the collage pieces. It's been too hot here this week, not what we're used to even though we live in one of the warmer parts of the UK. I've tried to do some crafting but finding it difficult to concentrate for long. Happy creative weekend. Hugs Angela xXx

    1. Many thanks, Angela. I've been hearing a good deal about the heat wave over there, and have been hoping that you are managing to weather it well. I do understand about creating in the heat, and am grateful for the basement studio which keeps cool even in the warmest weather! Sending hugs right back, and wishes for some more normal temps for you!!

  5. I'm with John on hot chocolate over coffee. We have a fabulous place near us in the Adelaide Hills where we go once a month. They have seasonal flavours, and now that we're in to winter it's great to sit and wrap your hands round a lovely warm mug of Aztec hot chocolate - chilli and other spices. Yum.
That sunrise is gorgeous - such a lovely colour it makes you want to splash some paint around and capture it.

  7. Win, I know I left a comment here Thursday. Did I forget to push the publish button? I don't understand what happened to it but I will give you a re-cap... I'm glad to see you taking time to get out and have fun. And I love that you live in a place with beautiful mountains, like me. I love our scenery. 1. Thanks for a follow-up post, Deann. The truth is that I have company (family ❤️) here since Friday, and just could not fit time in to hit the computer. I've finished all the cooking prep this morning, and they've not surfaced yet, so here we go! xo
