Another stunning week...

...in paradise (aka Creston, BC, Canada).  The weather has been outstanding, the time has stretched beautifully, and the valley is producing splendor in every direction.

We're celebrating a 60th wedding anniversary in our small condo complex this week, so last week I made a card for the celebrants.  I can't imagine 60 years of togetherness (given that John and I are only looking towards our 27th next March), hence the question mark.  There's no doubt, however, that this couple has created a marvellously coloured life together!

The photo below shows some of the chaos in the studio, including a collage sheet that had a bit of an accident involving a spilled bottle to black ink.

While the whole is pretty darn dark,

there are bits of it that will make gorgeous segments in a collage,

or two,

or three.

Thank goodness for accidents - I would never have done that on purpose.  Would I??!! 🤣

I thought I'd show you a bit of the abundance in the valley right now.  After attending the farmers' market on Saturday, we've been eating some amazing organic produce from Cartwheel Farms.  I can't begin to explain how this produce tastes, but you can certainly see how the colour sings!

Sending thoughts of Creston bounty your way, and wishing you a colourful and tasty summer week!

  1. I am so happy you are having great weather it makes all the difference in how you feel. Right now I am living in Gods frying pan and half the state is on fire. But I will survive! FYI 53 happy years for us next month.
Now down to the reason I came. I adore your picture with the music peaking through. It is gorgeous. It's light and music breaking through the darkness...I love it.
Wow wonderful produce so fresh and yummy looking I just want to reach out and grab some of those cherries.
Win, you wonderful lady you. I hope your great summer rolls on into a beautiful autumn. Best wishes and hugs Always. Deann

    1. Wonderful to hear about your 53 years! Reason to celebrate, any time of the year, I'd say.

The produce is marvellous here, and I'm always celebrating it in the summer. We're anticipating the orchard heaven as the cherry crop wanes, and it will last through until the final apple falls in October.

Thanks for the kudos on the dark and musical paper...sometimes the accidents are just so fortuitous!!

Wishing you an end to the horrendous heat and fires, my friend. That's usually our lot in the summer, and I'm glad it's holding off, so far, this year. Sending you cooling wishes and warm hugs! xooxo

  2. Well all the colour on that 60th anniversary card certainly makes up for the black oops! on your collage paper, Win. I know you'll find a use for little dark corners on your creations. We're approaching 33 years in September, so just over halfway :)
And I love seeing all the wonderful colours and textures of the farmers' market fare. We have just discovered kale chips done in the air fryer. Even hubby eats those, and he's not a fan of green vegetables 🤣

    1. Quite the contrast from major black to major colour, right? 😎

33 years? Congratulations...now we'll really have to work to catch up to you!

Isn't is fabulous thing when one can find a vegetable that the other half loves? I've a recipt for veggie pate that John will actually eat - how amazing! :D

Happy week to you, Tracy, as you enjoy your cool season down under. xo
