...and I've been scrambling to get some studio time in.
We spent a couple of days out of town checking out this year's Sculpturewalk with our youngest grandson
as well as attending his graduation from preschool. It's hard to imagine he's heading to kindergarden in the fall.
When it came time for studio play, I headed back to my mini travel journal signature to make these 2"- ish x 3 1/2" ish collages, challenging myself to use only three papers. I think the KISS principal works like a charm.
As you can tell, I had a blast, and I know there will be more to come.
I've also had an ultra-fine tip applicator bottle for inks sitting on my shelf for some weeks, and finally got around to playing with it. I can see it's going to be great fun when I get the hang of it.
How about you? What did you get up to this week? I'm going to pop over and take a look in a bit!! Happy creating, whatever it was.
Hi Win, My goodness your grandson is a handsome little fellow. He will be a heartbreaker when he grows up. And they grow up too darn fast.
ReplyDeleteAnd there you go again with your endless supply of brilliant, gorgeous patterns and designs . Every week I am amazed at the beauty you come up with. In a million different ways. You my friend are a design genius. I am looking forward to the fine tip ink creations.
And I wanted to brag about my flower picture this week. The background is a path up the side of our house. I just adore those mums.
Hugs and all my best wishes to you my friend.
I agree about the heartbreaker grandson; he's a knockout and just full of high-level energy to boot!
DeleteMany thanks for the lovely comments; I keep doing these collages in order to hone my design skills. After decades of working on the skills I'm still not sure I'm getting anywhere. ;-)
Your flower picture just blew me away, and I'd have been even more impressed had I known the background was your own!!!
Sending big hugs, and all the best to you in your garden beauty - may your summer be filled with delight!!
I seem to have done more housework and sorting old clothes than anything else this week while hubby is away and the dogs are in kennels. I've missed them all but got more done. The charity bag is full and waiting for removal. I love the papers you've made and I can see the Sharpie getting lots of use. Happy creating, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how having the house to oneself gets one in the mood to clean and sort. Little wonder you got so much done, and the charities will be delighted with your progress.
DeleteThe Sharpie was actually there to show size, but I have a feeling it's going to get some use this week in some of those collages! ;-)
Happy week to you, my friend.
Your youngest grandson is simply adorable! Indeed!
ReplyDeleteAll your cards are superb. Each one unique and well-composed.
Have you noticed that when we force ourselves to follow rather strict specifications, it reveals all sorts of talents in us that we would never have been able to use in more relaxed conditions?
And I love your writing; I'm crazy about this kind of result!!
That ultra-fine applicator still allows you to use thick and thin strokes.
Or did you use another tool to create them?
In any case, I'm a fan of the results!!
Keep exploring and having fun; your world is fascinating.
Sweet thoughts and hugs, my friend.
I agree, Sim - he's a sweetheart.
DeleteI've always like self-imposed restrictions (far more than those that are imposed by others 🤣).
You're right about the ultra-fine marker - depending on how one uses it, it can produce dots, thick lines, or very thin, sedate ones. It's a great tool.
Sending hugs across the water to you; may your summer be filled with light and laughter. xo
