...as the week flew by like rocket. With family in town (happy dancing ensued for four days!), there was little time for anything but quick photos of interesting patterns,
a card for a friend who is leaving her job at the gym in order to work at a winery for the summer,
a start on cutting a larger scribble Typar stencil
which will be used on this 3' x 4' wood panel.
I've been promising myself for
three years to get to work on it so I'm hoping you'll hold me accountable! It's all gessoed and ready to go, so I have no excuse!!
And I printed some favourite quotes to add to a stash of tags - these will eventually go to the library for their ongoing efforts of fund-raising. I turn to these small projects when my mind is boggled, and they come together so quickly that it helps to start the creative juices flowing again.
What was your creative week like? Do you have a gazillion things on the go as well? Here's to arting everywhere!
Can't wait to see that panel! I'd love to have space to work on something that large. I could do it outside, I suppose, but I'm sure there would be bugs aplenty stuck in the paint :)
ReplyDeleteLoving those fabulous leaves. Makes me want to pick up the inks and do some loose sketches.
I feel the same way as do you about that panel, Tracy. I merely need to get started. 😉 And I heartily recommend an outside piece, given that with mixed media any bugs would merely add texture. I love those leaves, too - that tree came to me as a 4" plant in 1984 and is now my height (and three times my girth) even after yearly trimmings. Sketch away, 'cause I'd love the see them!
DeleteHi Win, Having fun with family may be the only thing better than art...lol And I can see that you still managed to accomplish more then the rest of us on a good day. Your card for a friend is fabulous. As are your bookmarks, what a wonderful idea to raise money. And I expect great things from that wood panel.
ReplyDeleteYou asked about the author of the quotes on my blog, Sorry they were some I collected on Pinterest the persons that posted them didn't include an author. Wishing you all the best from here and big hugs.
P.S. Those plants are gorgeous I love the colors, great picture.
I agree about the family fun, Deann...it was such a huge treat.
DeleteThanks for the response on those quotes; I've been sleuthing and managed to find the dragonflies quote (done by Sakari Graphics) on an Amazon site. The 'present moment' quote is by Marie Beynon Ray. I'm definitely feeling the need to steal both, so many thanks for your use of Pinterest. ;-)
See my note on the plant in response to Tracy - it's an oldie but a goodie!! Sending massive hugs...
Hi Win, I can understand your lack of arty stuff as you need to spend as much time as you can with the family. The book marks look good and they are a great idea. Hope they sell well. That jar of Prima Gel on my desk is almost empty and I need to look for some more as it's my favourite. Love that card too, great fun. back soon. Hugs Angela xxx
ReplyDeleteGood luck on finding some more Prima Gel, and quickly, Angela! It does not do to run out of a favourite supply! Happy week, my friend - here's hoping it's gelilicious!! xo
