Cows are pretty boring...

don't you think?  Their muted colours just don't call to me, although their dispositions are often calming, and I enjoy the soft moo from a contented cow.  In my world, though, cows would be a wee bit more colourful,

as would their surroundings.

I'm pretty sure they'd be popping with colour

with their makeup done to the max.

Surely they'd sport every possible combination

of contrast and impact?

Well, the good thing about being a crazed artist is that one can create any world that floats through one's imagination.

And that makes me wonder what one could do with hippopotamusssssses or .....

NB  This whole post is brought to you because a fellow artist, Eileen Gidman  issued an invitation from  Kootenay Meadows Farm to attend their Spring Turnout on April 23.  This event is the release of their dairy cows 'into the wild' and is a popular event for locals, artists included.  While I'm not attending I know Eileen will be there, and my Colour Spirit will be mentally painting the cows as I see them in my dreams.  😄

And I'd love to know what you would do to make the world brighter, lighter and more colourful?

    1. Ha! Thanks, Laura...and don't be envious of those lashes at all. They're a bear when they're long and mascara-ing all over one's glasses. 😂

  2. Hi Win Dinny, since I was here last time I have done some sorting in the loft but now there is so much stuff (don't worry it's not crafting stuff!) that I have no more space in the bin to get rid of it so that seems to me like a good excuse to stop so I'm here instead. These look like very happy cows to me and no wonder with all that colour. I have a little story which relates to your question though I have to say I'm not sure if the recipient enjoyed it Lol! Apparently when my sister-in-law was a little girl she decided that their dog was too dull and painted him with red paint. It sounds like fun but not sure Maisie and Stan would appreciate it. Brightly coloured dogs rather than the usual black, white and brown now that's a thought! Happy crafting sweetie xXx

    1. LOVE your story, Ang - and I remembered seeing some dyed dogs in my travels on the net. If you'd like to take a look, there's the link: https://metro.co.uk/2018/06/21/mum-defends-dying-dog-psychedelic-colours-says-dog-loves-7648287/ Since red's a go-to colour for me, I can understand your S-I-L painting your dog that colour. Do make sure to get a clear response from Maisie and Stan before going ahead with your painting session. 🤣🤩 You might be surprised at their excitement. Happy and colourful Easter thoughts to you and yours, my friend! xo

  3. Oh, they're wonderful! Just love those eyelashes :)
My world's pretty colourful already with all the wonderful birds - lorikeets, rosellas, etc. - and the jacarandas, wattles, and bottlebrushes. Our container has reached the dock so once customs have cleared it (and to be honest, it's mostly books and art materials!) my studio will be colourful again, too.

    1. Thanks, Tracy. I'm so excited for you that your container has arrived - now you can bring all that outdoor colour into your home. That is excellent news, and I look forward to the resulting posts!

  4. Hahaha! It was perhaps not for fun that you created your own marvels Win! But... Sorry, I laughed when I saw your latest works (and it feels good!).
I believe to understand that you find the cows quite sad in colour, even if they are peaceful and restful in their fullness.
And that in your own way you would like to change the world a little.
I love your cows, they are awesome!
(We have, in France, a melted cheese called 'La vache qui rit' -the laughing cow-, and I'm sure you'd like it a lot with its packaging that crosses the ages).
I would very much like to see hippos or... transformed in this way, into creatures of joy and feast for the eyes.
I'm not sure I can turn the world into a brighter, lighter, more colourful place. But I am willing to recognize that this commendable and beneficial effort is very tempting.
I encourage you with all my heart, and wish you and yours a very happy Easter in your colorful world, my friend.
    Thank you to exist!

    1. Thanks, Sim, and you're right that I'd like the 'La vache qui rit' packaging. That's awesome!! And isn't the net a wonderful thing when one can find something like that from half way around the world?!!!

While hippos won't arrive this week, be sure they're on my radar, and one will never know when they'll turn up. In the meantime, between us, I'm sure we can colour our world.

Hope you have a purely delightful Easter, my friend. xoxo

  5. I am sorry that you are lamenting your cows, what they lack in color they make up for in eyelashes. As far as the world goes, if you could see inside my house you would know I have certainly done my part to make the world more colorful. If I didn't think it would cause a neighborhood uprising I would paint a giant rainbow arching across the front of my house.
I hope you and your cows have a wonderful Easter maybe you could use some Easter Egg dye on them...lol Take care of you, YOU make the world a brighter place. Hugs

    1. Oh my goodness, yes! A giant rainbow over EVERY house would be a wonderful thing; we should start a (colourful) petition and make it happen!

Easter egg dye on the cows? Why didn't I think of that??!!!

Bless you and your colour-full world, my friend! You certainly make mine much more vivid. xo
