Bless that glue cave...

... because it's getting a fine workout.  I got playing with white paper (including unpainted dryer sheets) over black this week.

I can't decide whether I like them better on a black background or a white one, but I'm definitely liking the combination of commercial white filigreed papers with the dryer sheets  I admit to finding it impossible to resist adding that pop of red on it.

I didn't stop there, naturally - I added another layer to each of the pieces I spray glued last week.

I suspect by the time I add a judicious layer of mediums, they'll both be juicy enough to eat.

I worked on the mini books as well this week, finishing another six of them...only seven more to go and they'll be heading out in the mail.

And just in case you want a closer look at some of these papers, here's your chance!

And just a tongue-in-cheek accolade to the Town of Creston, who have started work on a level slalom course for gophers near one of our local parks; they expect to have it ready for the 2021/22 winter season.  We're excited - are you?

Happy week, my oh-so-creative friends - see you next Thursday!

  1. Oh, that pop of red just makes those black and white pieces, Win! Love them.
And nice to see the gophers are being looked after. Wouldn't want them to get fat, would you? ;)

  2. Fantastic textures! I would say they're "juicy enough to eat" already! Funny how you couldn't resist that little piece of red - it has changed the feel of the whole page completely! That swirly pattern is amazing! Enjoy playing, Win - you always put me in the mood for using more colour! xx

    1. That's high praise from the Queen of Colour herself, Zsuzsa. I'm with you on the swirly pattern...I MUST find more of that paper! May we play on for decades. :D

  3. You are getting me in the mood to cut up some of those 'Use It or Loose it' papers and card. I thought the pile would easily go down but I've hardly touched made any difference to it at all! The pop of red is lovely I'm wondering is a small interwoven area of red could work too. Have a lovely creative day my friend though actually not sure what time it is now at yours but sending hugs anyway xXx

    1. What a great idea to weave some red through - I've got a ton of things I want to try with these pieces, and now another on my list! Yay! Hugs right back at 11:30 am, while you're heading into the evening! xo

  4. Hi just popped back as I saw your question about when do I find time to make these things. We are both retired now which helps but most of my inspiration comes at about midnight Lol! I believe that I spend most of the day thinking about a project and once it's all filed in the head (which can take several days!) the making bit seems much quicker and I usually have several projects on the go at the same time for those drying times but then my little brain gets very tired and I do the gardening Lol!xXx

    1. Wow - I can't imagine even being awake at midnight, so you are now a SuperPower in my books. It's an amazing thing that we can all be so different, and yet powered by the excitement of creativity! xo

  8. Hi Win, love your art but if your taking a poll I like the first and third pictures the best because they match the holes in my head. Love the close ups they put a whole new slant on it. And don't you just love government projects..that's why we pay them the big bucks for gopher reclamation.
This week hasn't been much fun. My Granddaughter was in a nasty boat accident so we are dealing with that. And the weather is crazy hot over 100 F, this weeks and it looks like two more after that. Normally I wouldn't care but the first day of 90+ our air conditioner died, and they can't get us a new one until the middle of July. So it's sweat, ice water and a fan for this month. Have fun with your gophers I'll bet you could find an art project to use them in. Hugs, Deann

    1. I'm delighted to hear that I'm not the only one with holes in my head, Deann. :D I'm so sorry to hear about your granddaughter; may she heal quickly, easily and without any last repurcussions! And 100 F without an air conditioner?!!! Heaven help you - may this next month be cooler than anticipated. Sending you massive hugs, prayers and cool air from Canada! xo
