. . . and so it seems like nothing has been done. I've actually been working on all the bits and pieces that go together to finish works for an exhibition (on Ruth's behalf), so my fingers are glued together with medium and I'm spray-finished with satin up to my jawline. Fascinating, right?
The fun part of the week has been getting out into our beautiful countryside, and I've been wowed by trees this week. I thought I'd show you some of them, given that the contrast of the budding branches against the blue skies has me mesmerized.
As always, Mother Nature is the quintessential artist, isn't she? She makes the Creston Valley look glorious no matter the season. I hope your week has been as lovely in your corner of the world, and that your creativity is more fun than watching paint dry. 😉
Oh, those new leaves and blossom - signs of hope that we desperately need right now. And a beautiful weeping willow. We are blessed to have one in our garden and it is sprouting huge amounts of new green. The veggies and fruit bushes are showing shoots and tiny berries. Where there is life, there's hope.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Tracy - the blossoms around us this spring are speaking to me more clearly than in years past. There is renewal, and hope and delight in them.
DeleteGorgeous blossom and blue skies Win! Is that a magnolia tree? We're trying to grow one but it's not looking good at the moment! The frost got to it - but if it can survive in Canada, surely it can survive in the UK! Enjoy your weekend - hope you get some nice Spring weather - it's still unseasonably chilly around here! xx
ReplyDeleteIt is a magnolia, Zsuzsa - a beauty that is just across the street from us. They grow beautifully here in the temperate Creston Valley, along with orchards of cherries, apples, etc. and grapes for a relatively new wine area. Hopefully your magnolia will survive - they are one of my favourite trees, and the range of blossoms is wonderful! The weather here is typical spring weather - up, down and all over the board, so one can hardly fault the trees for taking their time to shout out spring!
DeleteThere's nothing like a walk with mother nature to relax yourself and clear the head. In the park where we walk the dogs there are many old and gnarled trees which just attract my attention every time and I'm sure they would make a great starting point for some art work. The curves and shapes are amazing. So for me it's not just the new growth but the old ones too. Have a lovely creative week, Angela xXx PS I've started working on the peg.
ReplyDeleteI love the old trees too, Angela - particularly the gnarled apples that are indicative of old orchards here. I agree that trees would make a great starting point for artwork, and I've a plan to incorporate the photos into a flag book in the future.
DeleteI'm pumped to hear that you're working on the peg. I can hardly wait to see what's going on there!
Your photos look like my backyard. It is so cheering to watch the world come back to life for Spring. It has been so lovely here this week,
ReplyDeleteMother Nature is the best.
With so many getting their shots it's like we are all coming back to life.
Enjoy yourself I hope you can get all the goop off your hands, and get on with your wonderful work. Happy walks.
I can see your backyard in my mind, Deann. It's a lovely time of year, filled with hope and expectation, and when one adds the Covid shots to the mix, I'd say we're well on the way.
DeleteClearing goop like crazy, with the hope of starting, experimenting and finishing some projects. :D
Hope you and your hubby (to say nothing of the rest of the family) are well, and that operations are/will be successful. xo
Gorgeous photos and I love the blossom too ! Have a great week ! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks, Corrie - here's to a week of blossoms and colour!
