Each of the eighty two-page spreads is 6" in height and 8" wide.
The odd page reminds me that, in spite of the pandemic that is so prevalent in our thoughts right now, there is much more to life.
Most of all, it's a reminder that each day has a need for creativity, and that I just need to
Page by page, spread by spread, activity by activity, that's what life is all about, isn't it?
Win, I have never created on a black journal. But recently I bought one and I am going to use it. Your spreads are a wonderful inspiration. They are so beautiful and I love your positive sentiments. Hugs, my dear friend.
ReplyDeleteI think you're going to love working in your black journal, Mia - it's a great way to test new techniques, and play with colour, especially with those gel pens!
DeleteOh my Win! more guilt from me Lol! I am so loving your work on the black pages. I bought one of the Dylusions black journals at least a year ago and just haven't had the guts to start using it. I know it's stupid but I have always had a fear of blank paper and somehow the black pages feel even worse but I have been thinking that maybe some Zen tangling with a white pen might just help me to get started. Take care my dear arty friend and craft on. Hugs, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteOh, please DO IT, Angela! Once you get started, you're going to love, love, LOVE it, I guarantee. I did exactly what you're suggesting the first time I worked on black - the white tangle on a black background is riveting! I can hardly wait to see what you do...sending hugs and wishes for a great weekend!
DeleteI have lost my MOJO in this awful time and admire you continuing to create. I wish I wanted to. For now I go through the motions but need to start to enjoy it again.. Soon, hopefully !
ReplyDeleteI do like your black journal ! x
I do understand, Corrie - and still you manage to create and post an amazing number of beautiful and/or hilarious things. I so admire that about you, and am hoping the excitement of creating comes back soon, bearing down on you like a cannonball! xo
DeleteBeautiful pages Win... love the inspiration you share with us on a regular basis, I look forward to your posts!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Lynne, and I'm looking forward to a time when we can share the studio again for some playtime!!! Sending virtual hugs....
DeleteWhat a grand project both in size and wisdom! I recently heard a quite worthy of inclusion in your journal, Win. It went something like...This moment may be terrible, but my life is not, helping us cope with momentary sadness and confusion.

DeleteLovely spreads, Win, and great reminders. You've managed to get some really bright colours on that black background - something I admire, having tried to do that for the last 95 days with the 100 day project!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tracy, and I confess that I cheat a great deal. The intensity of the colours comes mostly from gel pens (they work beautifully directly on the black OR on the white stencilling) or Inktense pencils over the white. I do love the intensity of the colour against the black...apparently I'm addicted. :D
DeleteYou are right Dinn! C'est ça la vie!
ReplyDeleteAnd you are so talented, I adooooore your black & white book!!
The bright colours are so beautiful against the corroded blacks...
The spirit is fabulous...
And you are a real inspiration my friend!
Stay alive my dear!
(Thank you a lot for your lovely comments :)
Thanks for stopping by, Sim - glad you're enjoying the B/W journal pages! I am humbled by your praise, given that I look to YOU for inspiration each week. Hugs, Win
