It's another dark and light...

...or black and white day, as I play like a mad woman in my small journal.

Last week I showed you some spreads that I feel are apt for the crazy times in which we live, and I've got more of them for you this week.

This one is self-explanatory; we're being called upon to be more of who we are, and sharing that with others.

While we're social distancing at home, we have friends and family who working away from home, and others who have been unable to return to Canada before the borders closed.

We have no idea where this is all going, but I suspect we'll need a great deal of willingness to adjust.

W have a choice about how we proceed, so why not choose the up side?

Even self-isolated in our homes, there are dozens of things every day that are magical.  My gratitude list grows longer by the minute.

My word for the year is expand, and if that's not happening with this pandemic, I certainly don't know what is.

We're called upon to do things in different ways, and even be who we are in ways that are vastly changed from 'before'.

I keep a semblance of sanity by spending as much time outdoors as possible.  In a small and quiet town, that is relatively easy - how does that work where you live?  Are you getting some tree energy?

Whatever your circumstances, however you're managing, I think this reminder is a good one - we can all help each other by shining our own light around us.

As always, I'd love to hear about your week.  What are you creating?  How are you adjusting?  What's your favourite technique for living in a pandemic.

  1. Beautiful pages and great thoughts Win.
    Nature gives us so much.
I am out in the woods every day for at least one hour as the weather is so friendly and my soul feels sooo good about it. I guess we live in a similar area even though we are so far from each other!!
    Take good care furthermore !!
    Elbow hugs

    1. Thanks, Susi - I agree that we must be living in similar areas, and thank goodness for the beautiful nature all around us. It does more for our psyches than anything else, I think, and especially so right now. Hope you have a fabulous Easter weekend, my friend. Elbow hugs right back at you! xo

  2. Hi Win, loved reading your thoughts. Today we joined the queue at the supermarket and it was very peaceful and quiet once we got inside which is very different than how it would be at this time of the year as Easter approaches so the waiting was worth it. Early today we took Maisie and Stan the dogs for their walk in the park and just saw a few people with their dogs or running but they were all being very good and leaving plenty of space. Sadly not every area in the UK are doing the same and apparently the police have had to move on several street parties in Manchester and similar things in London. I guess we are lucky in that we live in quite a small city but people need to change the times they go out which is what we've done so there's not many people around. Of course I've plenty to do and this afternoon been putting more stuff into the cabin. You take care my friend. Sending you hugs and hopefully a happy Easter. Ang xXx

    1. I am heartened to hear that your city is doing so well with the social distancing; it is the large cities that are having more difficulty with it, and as a consequence they'll have higher rates of the virus. We, too, go out when there is less chance of others doing the same, even though we live in a small town. Glad to hear the cabin filling is coming along; I'll look forward to seeing more progress next week. Happy Easter to you and yours, my friend. xo

  3. Lots of wise words here, Win. I particularly like the 'positive/negative' spread. It looks like a dark forest. I guess we all have to walk through the forest, but as you say, our attitude is ours to choose even if the path isn't.

We're getting outside over here, too as the spring weather is lovely for the moment. The pond we started digging last summer, which filled up in September with all the rain we had, has finally drained today! Robyn and I were outside digging a bit more and filling some raised beds with what we're digging out.

    1. Many thanks, Tracy; I'm really enjoying working in this particular journal. I love the size and I'm learning a whole lot about what I know (and don't! :D).

We have lovely weather right now as our area heads full-on into spring. The buds are bursting, the sun is hot and the sky is a deep, rich blue. Although we have no gardening space in the condo complex, John has heritage tomatoes on the go, and they'll go into containers on the porch soon. I'm already anticipating those sweet little cherry joy-bundles. Happy Easter, my friend! xo

  5. Loving your monochrome theme with the splashes of colour - perhaps quite symbolic in this current situation - there's colour at the end of the tunnel! Happy Easter Win - stay safe - and keep creating! zsuzsa #16

  6. Winn you are absolutely brilliant to come up with such lovely pictures in the first place and add wonderful meaning and wise dialog to go with them...well I am blown away. Take care of yourself you are a treasure.
The funnest thing I did this week was hide Easter Eggs in my back yard for and toss Easter candy off our balcony to my Grandkids...with latex gloves of course. Have a wonderful week...and NO HUGS. lol

    1. Oh, Deann, thank you so much. Oh I love the thought of tossing Easter candy off the balcony to the grandkids - brilliant idea. I'll bet it was a blast to watch them. Our grandson lives in a distant city, so FaceTiming is required, although he will be joined by two more grandchildren this year - a sister in June, and a new cousin in late September. We're counting our blessings! And you, my friend, are definitely one of them. xo
