When this group plays...

...they play hard, and with spectacular results!  The TAPS workshop ended last week, and there were some crazily creative quilted collages completed (say that ten times fast).


Just take a look at these works of art!

Don't these pears pack a punch?

This apple was clearly grafted!

I was amazed at the variety of colour and vivacity in these pieces - no two alike, and some amazing takes on our valley!  What a wonderful group of people here - they were a delight to play with each week, and I was so impressed at the engagement of the participants.  Helping each other, chatting, exchanging news and ideas, and generally keeping a sense of community is often challenging for seniors living on their own, but this program does it all.  Kudos to the organizers for ensuring there is a space in which seniors can remain so engrossed and absorbed in daily life.

    Wow you really work with some talented folks up there in B.C. Don't you just love the individuality of art so many beautiful pictures alike in medium yet so different in interpretation. I love working with children then you really get some wild and crazy art.

    Well Winn have a great slice of October this week I hope your leaves are and gorgeous as the ones around here. I'm off to paint my front door. What color you ask... Why Red of course.

      Agreed, Deann - the whole group was truly amazing. I loved the way they each took the technique and made it their own. It's a thing about teaching that I love the best.

    Wonderful works! I'm always amazed at the variety of results when you give a group of people the same brief and a pile of materials and let them go. Looks like everyone had fun.

    How wonderful! It's especially nice to see some gentlemen crafters! I sometimes feel bad that we have hijacked this form of art making and made it inaccessible to men. I see that with my son too - he wants to try it but he feels it's too "girly". Then again, there's Tim Holtz and Andy Skinner so perhaps there's hope for manfolk!
