I promised you...

...a post about my favourite sculpture on our recent trip to Castlegar for the Sculpture Walk, and since I'm away from my desk here it is.  I love being able to schedule things for when I'm away!  Although this sculpture won the People's Choice Award for 2016, I missed the walk last year.  It's a knock-out sculpture and well-deserving of any award going, I think.

This tiny trike is delightful.

While no fan of mice, this one's a cutie - and it doesn't MOVE!

Every house needs some music and dance.

The mosaic around the balcony is outstanding.

Wonderful angles and line no matter where you look.

We spent a great deal of time checking out all the fabulous details in this sculpture, and since it's been purchased as the People's Choice Award for 2016, you can too.  I highly recommend you make the trip - this sculpture alone is well worth the jaunt!

    Oh ... Oooh... OOOOH. This is my reaction as your photos revealed another bit of that wondeful sculpture! And Ii am sure that as good as your photos are, they do not do it justice. Yes, I will have to make the trip to Castlegat to view it. Thank you for sharing!

    That is a fabulous piece of art so creative and so original. The best thing about art is all the different and very personal ways we express ourselves it never ceases to amaze me. With myself as well as I feel yourself also it has become a life's passion.

    This is a most remarkable sculpture with all its facets and details. Is it made of rusted steel?

      Don't you just love technology? It can be the most amazing thing. Yes, the sculpture is primarily rusted steel with additional metals and tiles - an incredible piece! I'd love to live in it!!! xo
