I spent a great morning with Laura Leeder
and Eileen Gidman
As I took breaks from my work at home, I added to the piece until it resembled a manic picture of my current life, with labyrinthian pathways, stops and starts, mad dashes and wild colour. What could be more appropriate for this time of the year? I've got five more days until the big day, and I suspect this will get additions, because why stop at psychedelic when outright gaudy is a possibility?
I'm wishing you a Happy Halloween - may you enjoy the costumes and colour, with no tricks at all!
What a fun idea to paint a pumpkin ! And the result is fabulous !
ReplyDeleteI also would like to thank you for your many visits to my blog and your lovely comments ! They are very much appreciated !
Corrie xx
It was a blast, Corrie - last year we dripped wax all over pumpkins, so it was a fun change. And your blog posts are a highlight of my week -many thanks to you!!!
DeleteCool, it’s always grand when artists assemble to paint together.
ReplyDeleteI fully expected Laura’s pumpkin to be organically floral. Yours and Eileen’s are just weird!
Yours definitely reflects your life at the moment - going ever which way as it is!
Oh you make me laugh - weird indeed, and so NOT-traditional Halloween! xo
DeleteAnd it already looks AMAZING! Your pumpkin is a fantastic piece of ART! I am inspired - should I try to paint one as well? No ..no more on the To Do list!Maybe nexz year?!
ReplyDeleteThat must have been great to meet up and to do this!
I wish you a very happy Halloween in case we don't read us until then!
oxo Susi
Thanks, Susi - this was definitely a great play date...it's fun to be without rules, right?! :D I'll be watching for one from you next year!
DeleteSuch an enjoyable morning, painting and chatting with you both! I love how uniquely different our pieces always are. (I hope to make time today to complete mine)
ReplyDeleteI agree, Laura, and look forward to seeing your completed piece - I hope it will grace your front step when it's done. I'll be watching for it!!
DeleteI am glad that you had fun, Win. What a great day! And I love your painted pumkin, my friend. I think it is done, you do not need to add anything else. You are a pretty lady, my friend. I love your photo! Kisses!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks on all counts, Mia...and it was great fun. It got me right in the spirit for spooky!!
DeleteI love your pumpkin what a masterpiece a truly fabulous and very original design. (You get 10 points for originality in my book) It puts a whole new spin on Halloween decor.
ReplyDeleteI am the family face painter I was up early this morning so I could paint my Granddaughter off to school. So much fun I love it and it lets me be happily involved in their little lives. Have a wonderful Halloween and don't let the ghosties get you.
Oh, thank you so much, Deann - it's definitely not your 'normal' Halloween pumpkin. :D I wish I'd seen your granddaughter's face - I'll bet it was beyond amazing, that lucky girl!! xo
DeleteBeautiful! Glad you're still splashing some colour around while cleaning and downsizing. Let's get the priorities right :)
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty much ready for a lobotomy if I don't get my creative time in, Tracy...it's ALWAYS a priority, move notwithstanding! :D
DeleteOh Win this is brilliant! Definitely a masterpiece and what a great idea, love them. Sending big hugs, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteBrilliant? Wacko, perhaps!! ;-) But it was great fun, nonetheless. xo
DeleteWhat fun! Another year, another type of decorated pumpkin for you three ladies. What will you come up with for next year!
ReplyDeleteGoodness knows, Val - I can see that we've started a pumpkin tradition, though, so we'll have to be really creative in the coming years!
DeleteBeautiful Pumpkin Art :) Great idea. Take care, Shirleyxx
ReplyDeleteWe enjoyed the Halloween tomfoolery immensely, Shirley - many thanks! xo
DeleteWin, I love your geometric pumpkin and the whole idea of painting on them! It must have been so fun! Good luck with your downsizing - we did the opposite just two months ago and I've really enjoyed spreading out - and that includes my waistline as well, LOL! Are you moving as well or just decluttering? Getting rid of junk can be very liberating - just make sure you don't get rid of stuff you might need later!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Zsuzsa! And we are downsizing so extensively in order to fit into a condo (as yet to be purchased) that will be about half the space we currently occupy, sans garden, studio and garage. It will be quite the adventure, I know!!!
DeleteIt will be less work to maintain, that's for sure. We've just realised how much work it is to maintain the grounds, but that's what we wanted so can't complain! Make sure you get a decent sized art space though! That has to be a priority!
DeleteAgreed!!!
DeleteWin I love your pumpkin and I love your photo!!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes on all that downsizing, purging and packing...did you say already? Do you have somewhere else picked out to live?
sending love and warm hugs on this cold rainy day! xx
Thanks on both counts, Jackie! Yes, we're hoping to stay in the valley; finding the 'perfect' condo will be the second challenge! :D xo
