...and mostly upstairs relaxing on the couch, while I learn some (more) stitch witch fun with buttons.
Apologies for the quality of the closeups...some of these buttons are very tiny and difficult to photograph!
I also got a chance to play a bit in the current mini signatures - I think there are possibilities in the two pages I started.
The first one will look much better when I knock the background back a bit, as I really like some of the areas.
I'm liking the colours on this second one, even being muted from my usual wild palette.
Apart from an unphotographed birthday card for a resident of our complex, that's pretty much it for the week. I obviously need a gel printing session to jump start the creative juices! Hope your week has been a whole lot of juicy fun in the studio.
Win, I am always learning from you. I never knew there were so many ways to sew on a button. Very clever. Your mini journals so far looking real good. I love the two totally different styles, both beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I have done an amazing amount of painting this week, on my walls...lol All I have left is the kitchen. But first I have to wash all the cupboards. Bah humbug! Wishing you a wonderful week. Love and Big hugs from here. Deann
Bah humbug, indeed...cupboard washing is not very high on my list of fun things to do either. You are so close with all the painting being finished, though. Your sense of accomplishment will well outweigh the horror of scrubbing. . . maybe. 😉😉😉
DeleteThe buttons are fun to do, even with just two holes, and then when one gets to the four holes the patterns are endless. I had to stop looking at Pinterest just to get started.
Happy (painting) week for you, and may those cupboards magically come up sparkling, and finished by the fairies! 💖
I love those mini journals they are so much fun to work in. The buttons look good. I need to think about some projects to use up some buttons as I just have far too many. I used to collect antique buttons and people kept giving them to me and now I don't know what to do with them all. Hope you're having a good week. Big hugs Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteI totally get the 'too many buttons' thing. I've been collecting for years and divesting myself of them nearly as long. While I've never had a good stash of antique ones, some of them must be nearly as old as am I. I saw some fabulous ideas for button art on Pinterest in case you're interested! ;-)
DeleteHappy creative week, my friend! Hugs, Win
It's all so peachy!
ReplyDeleteI'm in awe!
You've found a great use for these pretty buttons!
It's just fa-bu-lous!
The first mini signature is beautiful, it reminds me of African patterns and colours.
The second one is beautiful too, the broken colours and textures are superb. I really like it.
I think you're very imaginative and active at the same time, even if you think it's not much...
Have a good time again in your studio, enjoy yourself, it's so good for us who visit you.
Hugs my friend.
Button mania is a frequent thing in the studio, and like Angela ^, I MUST find a way to play with them. :D We'll see what comes of this.
DeleteYou're right about the tribal feel of that first signature; I'd not caught that but it's bang on!
Many thanks for your lovely comments, always...hope you are feeling well and healed to the max. Sending love...win
Wow, that’s a lot of ways to sew on buttons.
ReplyDeleteAnd that barely scratches the surface! It's an endless field of exploration!!
DeleteLoving your creativity in sewing on those buttons, but I have to admit that with my sewing head on, I can't see them working on a shirt 🤣 Glad to hear you've had your feet up for a bit. Rest is highly under-rated.
ReplyDeleteEven given my spatial relationship dysfunction, I was pretty clear some of these would not be operational. 🤣I do enjoy the craziness of them, though...Pinterest has well over 200+ ways to decorate 4-hole buttons. Can you imagine???!!! ;-)
