Is it really that close to Valentine's Day?

And how did it get here so fast?  I've been working on a set of  Thank you/Valentines cards for the last couple of weeks in appreciation for all the work that the care givers in the Adult Day Services do at Swan Valley Lodge.

The group is so vibrant and deeply caring for all their clients I felt it would be fun to acknowledge that with a large card for the group, and individual ones they could take home.

There may also be a good-sized box of chocolates  in the finished package; goodness knows they are on the run so much they won't have any difficulty burning off the calories.

It's next to impossible to express how much the staff is appreciated there.

Oh, and I haven't forgotten John on Valentine's Day either; he's getting a new bookmark, and there may be chocolate involved there as well.  😉

May your Valentine's Day be massively colourful and filled with all your favourite things.

  1. That is so thoughtful, Win. I love the idea of a large card AND individual ones, so staff can have a beautiful piece of art for themselves. Small gestures have a big impact when they are showing appreciation for people and what they do.

  2. Win, you are an angel and your beautiful cards are a treasure. I know I am fortunate enough to own a few.
I understand how hard this is, my dear Grandma walked the same path as John for 15 years. And even harder to watch them slip away.
My prayers and love are with you my friend. Big hugs, Deann

    1. Many thanks for your appreciation, Deann!

Anyone who has watched a loved one travel the path of dementia definitely understands how difficult it is, and watching your Grandma fade away with it must have been harrowing. I value these caregivers beyond measure; they are staunch in their loving kindness. 🩷

It must make them so happy to receive such warm feedback.
The gigantic card is a great idea and the chocolates are the icing on the cake.
Bravo for your work, and bravo for your big heart!
Lots of kisses, and lots of courage of love for John.

    1. Thanks on all counts, Sim; it seems little enough to do for the caregivers with all that they do for their clients. I am in awe of their empathy, kindness and love.

  5. I know exactly what you mean about the care homes. Everyone we went to during the years that my mum was still alive were brilliant and workerd so hard to make everyone comfortable and as healthy as possible. I don't know what it's like where you are but they work so hard with far less staff than they really need. This is a very king gesture on your side. I know these lovely cards will be much appreciated. Sending hugs Angela xxx

    1. I'm definitely with you, Angela - they do so much, and could easily use double to staff. I bless them daily! xo
