...more time in the studio, so I'm doing a happy dance over here. The underwhelming 'abandoned ovals' piece from last week is looking better, and may eventually make a good background.
There is a little progress on the celebratory piece,
and just take a look at those three clean brayers. The two smaller ones have been so thickly coated with paint that I'd forgotten their original boring colour.
I've started a small floral collage,
and added a couple of layers to the scribble piece that was started last week.
It's looking quite different with more scribbles and a wash of diarylide yellow over all.
Happy spring week to you all, with juicy creative play!
Wow! One would not think that was the same piece. Just shows what a full glaze layer can do. What an example!
ReplyDeleteIt's quite a shocker to see that change, isn't it? Glazes are so much fun!!
DeleteBravo on all your positive progress Win. And isn't Murphy's Soap just the best, it smells good and doesn't eat hole in your hands.
ReplyDeleteIt's starting to look like Spring once in awhile around here I hope it is up there too. A little sunshine is so reviving. All the best to you my dear. Hugs, Deann
You're so right about that soap - it's a blessing for artists, certainly!!
DeleteSpring is (sporadically) coming, and we've had a day or three of that lovely sunshine. What a blessing! May all of those benefits hit you like a freight train, dear Deann!
Oh my! it's difficult to say what I like the most, you've certainly been busy this week. If in doubt add scribbles, perfect way to pull the design together. Love the colours too. Have a great weekend. Hugs Angela xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Angela - I just love an experimental week, and working small makes it so easy to do. Here's to playing with colour!!
DeleteWow, you have been busy this week, Win. I just love how different that glazed piece looks, and of course the small floral collage with its lovely circles of colour.
ReplyDeleteYour brayers came up beautifully and now I'm looking at mine and thinking how mucky they look in comparison. Now what does the work of Murphy's here in Australia? Must do some research...
The glazed piece really changed, didn't it? And even more so now that I've continued to work on it. So much fun. And the collage piece is coming along, too.
DeleteI hope you can find a comparative oil in Australia...it works a charm!!
Win, I am just starting to use the brayer I got from you years ago, and have finally wrapped my head around collage. I am addicted. I love the difference the glaze made, have to learn that now.
ReplyDeleteYou're going to love using glazes, Gay. From the very thin ones to the deeper ones, and from partial glazes over paintings to over all ones, they're exciting to explore!
