...and the summer (AKA fire season) is just a memory. It's been an interesting one, what with near-endless smoke, amazing levels of heat and the vicissitudes of the pandemic. Perhaps that was why my sporadic sessions with blind artist Ruth Bieber had us working on sunscapes for her last two paintings. While I don't have the OK to show you the completed works, I thought I'd share snippets of the sunny colours we recreated this year.
And I'm making every attempt to capture the last rays of sun before the onset of winter. Often we need go no further than the front patio to see some beautiful rays.
I hope that you, too, are enjoying some fabulous fall sun and colour (or spring, if you're in the southern hemisphere). May your week be bright with both!
I love the texture in Ruth’s work; I can’t wait to see the final pieces!
ReplyDeleteRuth's appreciation of and love for textural artwork makes her the perfect person for conceptual work. Her show is going to be a hands-on knockout!
DeleteOoh, those colours and textures are yummy! I look forward to seeing the finished pieces when you have the go-ahead to share them.
ReplyDeleteRuth's sense of texture is really outstanding, Tracy, and to watch her 'see' a painting with her hands is an amazing experience!
DeleteThose swirls of colour are amazing, what a great effect. Ruth is a true artist and she produces such glorious pieces and hope we get to see what she's being doing. I've been in the garden most of today trying to do some pruning. As I sit here the sun is shining through the window and there are all kinds of lovely reflections against the blinds, it's been a lovely day. I like September as the weather is usually good here with sunny days but not too warm. Hope you are having a lovely day too. Hugs, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteWe most certainly will get an opportunity to see Ruth's paintings after the show opens...she is textural and colourful to the max in her artwork!
DeleteSo glad you're having a gardening day in such beautiful weather. September is truly a stunning month when the sunshine and blue skies abound. It makes one glad to be alive. We're experiencing the same here today, and I'm thankful for it.
I don't blame you at all for trying to hold on to these days. Why does it seem like Summer and Winter go on forever and Autumn is two weeks long. I love it, I wait all year just to savor the warm days, the cool crisp nights and the color I love the colors. I hope yours hangs on for a long, long time.
ReplyDeleteI also want to point out why we are kindred spirts. Your comment on my Pilot picture, most everyone else looked at him and saw a hunk. We looked at his eyes and saw a man that had been through....a battle.
Take care, enjoy your autumn. Hugs, Deann
Autumn always sings blue skies, sunshine and colour to me. How could one not be in love with it? I agree that it's much too short...we need to petition the Universe for a change in the length of that by shortening winter I think.
DeleteI agree about us being kindred spirits- we definitely look at the world and its inhabitants through the same eyes. We are linked at a soul level. ❤
Amazing colours and textures! Love !
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Win! xoxo
Thanks, Corrie, and right back at you for a great week, my friend!
DeleteVery fiery colours indeed! And amazing textures - I'm so looking forward to the autumn leaves! Hope you're well, Win - I've been AWOL for a few weeks, but I'm back now! xx
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're back in the thick of it, Zsuzsa - keeping my inspiration levels up and active, so bless you! ;-)
