The mini-book frenzy continues...

and I may have to start more in addition to the 17 I have in progress.  Every time I use painted dryer sheets I fall in love with them all over again, and this little book-in-the-making will be no exception:

The texture just has me salivating - how about you?

And of course, I am also working on the other ones in progress...some day these will all come together - just like families after Covid is done.

With a first-birthday coming up for granddaughter, Chloe, a painting has also been in the works.  Lucky her parents don't read this or I'd have to wait until June to show it to you.  Chloe is just as whimsical as the painting...she's a delightful sprite.

And I have to show you this lovely leaf I discovered while out walking.

Isn't Mother Nature the absolute best artist ever?!!!

We've had some lifting of the restrictions this week, which means that Ruth and I will be able to resume working on paintings for her upcoming show in November - that's welcome news.  The pressure has been on to find ways to fulfil her commitment and this is a most positive step.

I hope the news in your area is just as good, and that we can all move forward to a kinder, gentler world together.

With the lilacs in such profusion,

is it any wonder I've got purple on the brain?  Between the scent and the colour I'm in purple heaven!

I love this particular style of signature for all the pockets, twists and turns, and options galore.  I can hardly wait to get several of them sewn into an actual book (of course I have to learn how to do that yet!).

And in case you've not had enough purple yet, here's some more. . . of the outdoor kind.

Now I've really overdone it, haven't I?  I did say I had purple on the brain.  😵

It's been a detail week. . .

. . . and so it seems like nothing has been done.  I've actually been working on all the bits and pieces that go together to finish works for an exhibition (on Ruth's behalf), so my fingers are glued together with medium and I'm spray-finished with satin up to my jawline.  Fascinating, right?

The fun part of the week has been getting out into our beautiful countryside, and I've been wowed by trees this week.  I thought I'd show you some of them, given that the contrast of the budding branches against the blue skies has me mesmerized.

As always, Mother Nature is the quintessential artist, isn't she?  She makes the Creston Valley look glorious no matter the season.  I hope your week has been as lovely in your corner of the world, and that your creativity is more fun than watching paint dry.  😉
