I'm going mad with my computer, having spent the last two days dealing with an update from Windows that has been frying my computer. Heaven help me and my non-technical brain. However, I think, I'm pretty sure may have one or two photos for you now.
I promised you last week that I'd show you what was in the package for baby Owen, and here it is:
Owen's First Fish |
While it may be his first fish, it definitely won't be his last. Owen's daddy is a fisherman to the max, and as soon as Owen can hold a rod, I know he'll be fishing right alongside Jeremy.
The baby shower on the weekend was great fun, and I just have to show you what Rochelle's friends cooked up in lieu of games. They painted the fronts and backs of wooden tiles (5 1/2" square by 3/4" deep), and set up a table of paints, stickers, papers, pens and ephemera for the guests to create an alphabet for Owen's room.
I've got them at home in order to secure them for hanging, and they look just awesome!
Apologies for the lack of photo editing; my photo editor has reverted to one that is a decade old and basically inoperable in the latest Microsoft update, so it's back to the shop for this baby (computer, not newborn 😉).
That's it for me this week, given that I'm dealing more with computer freezes and technological issues than I am with studio time. Please let me know in the comments that you're having more fun than that - I'd love to hear what you've been up to while I've been tearing my hair out!
Hi Win! Yes, I am having a lot of fun because I finished my university obligations and now I am free to dedicate more hours for my crafting phychotherapy! Because I really think that creation is good for health! The fish is really gorgeous. My husband loves fishing, we have a boat, but he is not allowed to go fishing now because of the lockdown in Greece due to the virus. Hugs, my dear friend.
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you can play some more, Mia, and with Greece being in Covid lockdown, that's likely to continue for a while. I'm sure your husband will miss his fishing expeditions, and I do hope that lockdown will quickly take care of this terrible pandemic spread. Sending hugs and healthy thoughts for you both from a small corner of Canada.
DeleteFabulous idea this wooden alpha!
ReplyDeleteVery good idea indeed, for beeing creative during our lockdown (until now, I said confinement, as in french...)
I love the joyous fish blowing gems.
(Good luck with your damn computer my friend, take it easy... :)
I agree, Sim - it was pure delight watching kids of all ages play in the creativity box! Thanks for the kudos in the fish; it was great fun. And while my computer is home for the weekend, it goes back into the shop on Monday for a refit...maybe then it can keep up with me. :D
DeleteWhat a lovely idea for a gift - a great keepsake.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear of your computer troubles. It's frustrating when technical issues take you away from what you really want to be doing. Computers are a bit like housework, really - nobody notices until it isn't done/it isn't working. Hope you have everything sorted soon!
Thanks Tracy - I think that alpha thing is brilliant, and participants had some much fun.
DeleteI expect the computer will be sorted next week, and all will be well...yay!
What an awesome idea for a baby shower! Love those blocks. So cute! And your beautiful fish too =)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sal - it's been a very playful week! ;-)
DeleteHi Win, the alphabet tiles are a brilliant idea and are going to look so good. Loving the fish too. Hope you get your computer problems sorted too. Bug hugs, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Ang; I'm looking forward to getting the hardware on them and seeing them in his room! Glad you like something a little fishy. :D Hugs to you across the water, my friend.
DeleteHow perfect the picture is for Owen's colours and theme! I've never seen anything like the alphabet decorating idea for a shower. What a winner.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Eileen - that fish was great fun to do, and the wrapping paper will make a good background for another painting for his room. And I'm with you on the alpha tiles - such a GREAT idea!
DeleteWhat a great idea to make those alphabet tiles with everyone chipping in and the fish picture is genius with those jewels! It will be treasured for years to come, I'm sure and I look forward to the next one in the series!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Zsuzsa - both things were great fun, and no doubt there will be more play in the studio before too long...one can hardly keep away, right?! Hugs to you, my friend...
DeleteWell first I have to tell how wonderful your fish is and what a cute idea those blocks are. Then I have to commiserate with you and your computer nightmares. I so understand every time I see an update scheduled I hold my breath. Why can't they just leave the D#$% thing the way it is...aaah.
ReplyDeleteAfter a calming breath I will tell you I have been tearing my office and files apart to deep clean and organize all the stuff I have collected over the last 50 years. It's hard work but it make me so proud when I'm finished.
Take care of you, good luck figuring out all these electronic miracles. For two old birds who started out with a pencil and a brush I think we are doing great. Hugs
Deann, you always brighten my day! Thanks for the kudos on that fishy, and I do so agree with you on the blocks. As for technology? If it weren't such a necessity in this day and age, I'd love to see it kicked to the curb. You're right, though, about us doing well with it given our age and stage. (Although my attempts to sort out an Acorn subscription was not so bright given I found out that our local Telus does not support it...it'll probably take me several weeks to find out how to do it without accessing it through Amazon Prime - a major pet hate of mine for its unethical reach.) :D Onwards and upwards, or sideways as the case may be. ;-)
