While working intermittently on the fabric spiral background,
I've gotten distracted by a screamingly bright pattern-in-process on canvas,
With some of the leftover black paint from that, I stenciled some tag blanks
which led to a yen for gel printing.
One can hardly gel print without wanting to audition some of those papers in a journal,
and one journal just naturally leads to another, doesn't it?
What about you - what's going on in your studio?
bright and colourful as always Win. I have been playing a bit with acrylic pours and marbling and (sigh) thinking about Christmas ornaments when I am not out in the garden
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed that you can even think about Christmas ornaments, Val!!! I look forward to seeing some of your pours on FB!!!
DeleteI am so in love with your spiral pattern but also had to smile at the fact you started one thing and then moved to another project while it was still on the go cos I do this all the time. I start something and it makes me think of another idea and I have to start it or I loose the idea, maybe it's my age but no I've always been the same! Have a lovely crafty weekend, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine how anyone in the arts works in a linear fashion from one project to another, finishing each one...my art brains just does NOT go there! Have a terrific, weekend, Angela, and a bright and happy week!
DeleteI am organising my craftroom, Win. I have ordered a new big furniture with a lot of drawers and shelves, because my supplies do not fit any more on my previous big furniture! I LOVE your new spiral backgrounds and your journal with the mandalas! I always enjoy bright colors! Hugs, my friend.
ReplyDeleteThat made me laugh, Mia - moving from one set of large shelves to another larger set...your craft room is going to grow out of your house! :D
DeleteColor is the best it gives me such joy, the only thing as good as color for me is music. I am still loving your spirals they are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how much art I will be doing this week. I'm having a little surgery on Monday so we will see how that goes. That means you might have to do double to make up for me...lol
Take care of you, Hugs, Deann
I'm with you on the colour, Deann - such a delight in our lives (and yes, music as well). Hope your surgery goes perfectly on Monday... and that you'll be back at your creativity in a flash. xo
DeleteThat last one's gorgeous! So dramatic with the black and jewel colours. And I love the bold black and red canvas. Red's my favourite colour, so I was bound to be drawn to that one :)
ReplyDeleteFilled another raised bed with dirt from digging the pond during the odd hours when the rain stopped this week.
Thanks, Tracy - I'm liking that spread as well - the contrast between the two types of colour (one Inktense and one gel pens) is interesting, and who can resist a mandala?! Glad to know that your rain stopped for a wee bit this week - I know how you love to dig in the dirt as a change from playing in the studio! Happy week, my friend. xo
