I seemed to have missed creating a post last week, and at this point I'm unsure whether I actually did anything in the studio given I was out and about while John was in respite. I have been in there this past week, though, while I started on a unicorn project for a granddaughter' 5th birthday,
worked in a sketch book on some collages with them,
With any luck, I might even finish them all this week. It's such a treat to have play time in the studio that I'm putting it on my wish list for every artist in the world for the coming week, and everyone is an artist in one form or another. Here's to us all getting our art on!!
Aaah, you're back, great! We've missed you!
ReplyDeleteYour collages of torn paper are superb, the compositions are perfect, nothing to add, nothing to take away...
The dots finishing off the sort of exclamation marks are all very cleverly placed.
Yes, you are an artist, my friend!
I can't wait to see the finished unicorn.
Take care of yourself and treat us again to your heart-warming works.
Hugs and kisses!
Thanks, Sim, for missing me and for your lovely comments. I'm looking forward to more glueing and placing for finish these half dozen. And then I can start more with the othe 30+ pages once the unicorn is done. :D Sending great big hugs to you (and your stunning Mona!).
DeleteWin, You're back Sim and I were going to fly to B.C. and start a search party. You are never not here, we were concerned. I feel lots better now.
ReplyDeleteAnd I see you are off on a new darker project. Very interesting and lovely. Rock on my friend you have made my day. Hugs, Deann
Well darn - had I known you were planning a search party I'd have waited a couple of weeks and we could have played here in my studio!! Thanks for your concern - it's good to know my friends are out there and keeping an eye. You're a treat to see here, and I'm sending you great big hugs. Win
DeleteYes, to studio time! Lately I’ve been finding the 8 pm time quite magical.
ReplyDeleteIt is truly the best, isn't it? It's wonderful that you have that 8 pm magic time to look forward to! 😍
DeleteHi Win, you know I would love this. When I'm stuck for an idea I just rip up those bits and pieces and make a grid page. I am loving these and so pleased you found time for some studio fun. Sending hugs Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Angela...and 'Rip & Play' should be our middle names, I think. 🤣 We seem to be addicted to this kind of studio fun!
DeleteI always love to see your beautiful creations, Win. Great collage pages, my friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mia - and likewise to the max!!
DeleteThose collages are shaping up nicely, Win, and I love that dash of pink hinting at what's to come on your unicorn project. Glad to hear you were out and about and (hopefully) having fun last week and not laid up with a cold or anything like that :)
ReplyDeleteThat hot pink is a favourite colour for my grandaughter, and her unicorn addiction is legend! :D While I didn't have a cold last week, I'm holding one at bay right now, as John brought a doozy home with him from his respite stay. We'll be taking care of each other for a few days yet, I'd say!!
DeleteSo great to see you active! Wonderful! Will be in touch as I'm going to do a local residency over the next 3 weeks. Won't be able to be there every day, but it should be a great focus for my scattered brain! Great to see your new play and the calligraphy tucked in there too.
ReplyDeleteHave a blast at your residency, Meg, and here's to creative focus arising! And many thanks for the calligraphical text you sent me - some will doubtless go into the next set of collages!!
