...as I hop from one project to another. I've done some more work on the manganese/hansa collection of papers,
overlaying some of the tissue prints onto less-than-interesting ones,
adding painted dryer sheet overlays to one of the circle pieces,
and painted cheesecloth over another. They look more interesting now, don't they?
I had a quick mini gel-printing session with leaves from an Easter bouquet, and while the prints weren't stellar, I was struck by the paint-covered leaves in turquoise and red.
I made another embroidery thread basket which will head up the lake to the owner of
Barefoot Handweaving, where many of the threads came from initially. I'm sure that Janet will smile at the use those threads have been put to.
And just so you know that spring has officially arrived, I've added a couple of shots for you here.
From shrubbery to grasses, there is glorious colour everywhere (and yes, I do count dandelions in that category!).
May your locale be as beautiful, and your colour-eyes be finely tuned to the glory!
I love how you just doodle around until you have a masterpiece. And the way the rolling weave of the threads makes it so interesting. You clever lady. Your Easter bouquet is gorgeous with it's symphony of colors.
ReplyDeleteSpring has arrived down here too. The twin to your pink crabapple tree is growing in front of my art room window...so lovely.
Big hugs and best wishes from here my friend, Deann
Many thanks, Deann - doodling around is just the best sort of play~I love those crazy threads!
DeleteI think that gorgeous crabapple deserves some cheerleaders alongside - they are just outstanding, aren't they. I'm glad you've got one in front of your creating window!!
All the best to you and a gazillion hugs...Win
Hi Win, I can see you've had fun with the papers again, love the colours. I saw your mention about a papet trade but I will have to get my finger out and make some more. I'm working at the moment on a peoject for the crasft club but should have it sorted soon. Have a lovely creative weekend. Hugs Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your craft club project - I've no doubt it will be outstanding, as all your projects are. . . waiting with bated breath!!
DeleteI love the textures you're building up, Win. And all those spring flowers are looking lovely. Isn't it funny how the things we use for printing often end up as works of art themselves? Some of my stencils are gorgeous from all the colour they've picked up while being used.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree about things we print with being artworks on their own...I have some of those goodies that I'm reluctant to use anymore, preferring to look at them the way they are! ;-)
