Maybe! I was playing with some friends this past week, and got obsessed (again) with the strips of paper in one of my 'files.' I was so absorbed that I didn't even remember to get photos of my friends, or the lovely play they were engaged in. I'll do better next time, I swear. 😵💫
I really tore into the quote book that's been rattling around in my brain for ages. The book form was already in place (a travel-type journal with removable signatures), so I finally printed the quotes I love,
Naturally I got to use some of the paper strips, since they were staring me in the eye from the table.
The book size itself is 5" in height and 3" wide, so the quotes themselves are 3" high by 2" . While it doesn't leave much room for embellishment, there's certainly enough for a pop of contrast.

Win, You are an absolute fountain of creativity and wisdom. Your travel journals are a great idea and I love your quotes.
ReplyDeleteAnd then I find out that like me you are a fellow shadow freak.
Will look around and see if I can send you some of my favorites.
Have a wonderful Holiday Season my friend. Hugs and best wishes from me.
So many thanks for your kind words and heart, Deann. Smiling at the thought of you, too, being a shadow freak, and I'll bee looking for some of your faves...they are endlessly fascinating!
DeleteWishing you the best of the season right through to the arrival of the new year and beyond...sending massive hugs and the sense of wonder and delight you always provide me! 💗
Oh là là, the madness of the bands is a creative and shared success, that's truly great!
ReplyDeleteI love the quotes you chose, at least the ones I was able to translate correctly in my head, but I think I've got it all right, hahaaa!
The play of shadows is also one of my favourites, but I don't have a camera, so sometimes it's my man who photographs them with his phone, and sometimes, as he's got a good eye too, he takes some which are excellent.
It's always a real pleasure to read your comments and to come and see your creations. I'm delighted to know you!
I wish you and everyone you love a wonderful, festiv and warm end of year.
Goodness knows what will happen with those stripes, but they were fun to put together, Sim. And that little quote book will eventually contain some 48 of my favourite quotes, so there will be many more to come. Like all my books, I have good intentions of creating videos, but it never seems to happen. :D
DeleteYou're lucky to have your fellow to photograph shadow-play, and it's great to know there is yet another lover of them in this group!.
Wishing you all the best of the season, Sim - your creativity keeps me inspired and I salute your blog every time I stop by. 💗😍❤️
Stripes are close behind circles as a go-to pattern for me, so I love how you're making use of those paper strips. And yes, my household is like yours in noticing the small things. Enjoy the festive season!
ReplyDeleteWe are obviously geometric people, aren't we, Tracy? Gotta love the artist brain and the way it likes to play!
DeleteI have realised that I have kept far too many pieces of card and paper and I have to do something with them or bin them so I would love to see how you use the stripes. I have arranged them in the past on cards but thinking I could make a Masterboard or make card toppers by embossing over them but we'll see, for now I need to make some baby journals, I say some but it's two really as I don't know what colour the baby will be yet blue or pink? Apparently the father didn't want to know as he wanted a surprise! So thanks Oliver for making me twise as much work though I suspect there will be more to follow as my dear friend has three daughter who are all baby crazy at the moment. Have a good weekend. Hugs Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteYou and I are the Paper Hoarder Twins, Angela. I've not yet decided what to do with the stripes, although I think they would make a great stained glass effect cut and assembled on a black background. So there's one thing for me to try. I love the idea of a Masterboard and embossing over, too. Regardless, I'm sure any and all would be delightedly received.
DeleteBaby journals - you are so awesome, although that not-curious-enough-Oliver should be taken to task! 😉
Sending hugs right back from a green and grey Creston, BC! It's so strange that we still have a rich green grass, even with all the grey cloud cover (and only one now-disappeared snowfall). xo
