...is pretty much done for the Christmas season, so it's back in the studio and some journaling as I lose myself in hearts.
I was amused to see what a tiny space I was working in this week - see that bit in the bottom right of the photo below?
It's basically one pencil square in size. I know that some of you work the same way, so I'm hardly embarrassed at all. 😂
Happy week to you all, and may your seasonal preparations be filled with joy and love. xo
Love those deep alcohol ink colours on that first heart, Win. And that quote on the 'jeans' print is definitely going into my little 'good words to remember' book.
ReplyDeleteAnd I know you're just boasting when you say all your baking is done :) I have the fixings for Christmas lunch and that's it, but I'm not worrying about it this year.
I was gifted those alcohol ink hearts (done on Yupo paper) by an artist friend from another province, bless her heart (:D). I must get some Yupo and make my own, as the colour intensity just thrills me!
DeleteLittle wonder that you're not in the midst of baking given all the packing and sorting you need to do to get moved to Australia...I hope your congregation will pitch in and delivery loads of it to your house. xo
I love hearts, Win! Of course I love your journal spreads. They are fabulous. And the page with the blue jean gel print seems very interesting. Hugs, my dear friend.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Mia - hearts are truly one of the most recognized icons in the world, I think, and who could resist one?!!! Sending huge Christmas wishes, my friend. xo
DeleteWow, I'm impressed Win! Not only with the colourful hearts (that goes without saying!) but the fact that you've done all your baking! Actually, I could say that too - only that I don't bake LOL! Not like never, but certainly not at Christmas - shop bought is fine for us - Tiramisu yumm! Loving your hearts but I'm a bit disappointed that you didn't show off your baking! Although perhaps just as well - it would have only made me hungry LOL! Thanks so much for your visit. Have a lovely Christmas if I don't see you before that. xx
ReplyDeleteHa! Well the baking done does sound impressive, but this year I've cut WAY back. I did very little of the knock-your-socks-off baking that I've done in the years past, but sticking to the traditional favourites that everyone in the family enjoys when they come to visit...much easier, and time-tested recipes! At this rate, I'll be heading in your direction with store-bought goodies (and we have a couple of VERY good bakeries in town, along with a wonderful up-to-Christmas time market where homemade goodies are available as well), and an even easier solution! Sending Christmas joy to you and yours, Zsuzsa! xo
DeleteHow good to get lost in hearts, isn't it? The seventh particularly touches me, I'm not sure why, usually I like more colours that are proud to be colours...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations once again for your splendid limitless creativity, Win!
I wholeheartedly wish you a wonderful, warm and cheerful holiday season for you and yours my friend.
PS: About your sweet comments... In the south of France, we usually peel the mandarins delicately, being careful not to break the bark; then we fill the cavity with oil (any edible oil) and when the small wick of the mandarin peel (which we have taken care not to break) is well impregnated with oil (by capillarity) just light it like a candle wick. And now, it's very pretty in the semi-darkness and moreover it smells good.
I agree about that musical heart, Sim - there's something in that particular one that really sings...and I'm no fan of subdued colour either, for the most part!
DeleteThat's fascinating about the mandarin orange cup and I can well imagine how wonderful that lovely glow would smell. Mmmmmmmmm!
Wishing you and yours a fabulous Christmas season, Sim, and may 2022 be a year of love, connection and joy for you. xo
I often use the "Push Back" or "Push to the Sides" techniques but even that can be difficult on a really busy desk. I am much happier to see a desk that is busy than to see one that is empty and forgotten so your desk makes me happy for sure. Wishing you a lovely Christmas and a great new year though I'm sure I'll be back before the festivity starts. Hugs, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on a busy working area, Ang - give me chaos in the studio for sure (although the rest of my world is very organized). Sending you Christmas wishes right back, and like you, more to come before Christmas day! xo
DeleteBeautiful and so creative as usual, Win. Merry Christmas to you and the family. I never did get my cards out this year. Consider this as it. Hope you have a wonderful time.love A. .
ReplyDeleteLittle wonder that you didn't get cards out...just dealing with pneumonia and the energy it takes to recover from something like that would have been massive. Sending Christmas wishes to you and yours, and the hope that you Christmas week is bright, your dinner is fabulous (as I'm sure you'll make it) and your new year the best yet. Much love, my friend...xo
DeleteDear Win thank you for the very lovely Christmas card I received this week, it made my day. Yours is on it's way it took a detour down the side of the car seat on the way to the mail box several weeks ago. Fortunately it was discovered and is now in the hands of the postal service (heaven help it) better late than never.
ReplyDeleteI of course adore your hearts and heart quotes. I have one that perfectly describes you....“Do what you love, love what you do, and with all your heart give yourself to it.”
― Roy T. Bennett, If that is not you I don't know what is.
Mother Nature decided to dump a foot of snow on us this week and more to come. This place finally look's like Utah, and we will have a very lovely white Christmas.
Take care of you my friend and keep on loving what you do. Christmas Hugs.
I'm so glad that your card arrived before Christmas this year...seems to me it was February or March last go. 😄 I'll keep my eyes open for yours, hoping that the postal service is better than here.
DeleteI LOVE that quote, and will definitely steal if for my heart book...it's a beauty in so many ways!
Mother Nature is a wee bit early with that snow dump, don't you think? She could have waited for a day or two so all those late shoppers could have it a tad easier! Your Christmas is truly going to be gorgeous at this rate.
Sending warm and snowy Christmas greetings to you and yours, with some massive hugs from a tiny town in British Columbia. xoxox
