What?

It's THAT close to Valentine's Day?  Then I'll need to show you one of my favourite pages in the black and white journal I'm still continually working on.  Only umpteen more pages to go!

And since I'm in there anyway, I'll show you some of the other pages that have been appearing recently:

I can tell I'm making progress in this journal because I now have to hold it open with my fingers to take photos - that's a big yay from me!

I've not been in the studio much this past week as it's in a bit of disarray after the electricians were in to install some new lighting.  I'm so excited about moving back in there once the painting of the metal conduit is done.  I can actually see what's going on!  How cool is that?!!!  I LOVE it!!!

Wishing you a delightfully happy Valentine's Day, wherever you are, whomever you're with, and whatever you're doing.  Knowing that love is inevitable makes all of this pandemic stress seem easier, doesn't it?!  And, please eat some decadent chocolate for me...it's way past time for a strict diet in this body!  😄

  1. Dear Win, I generally like all your creations a lot, but I admit that I often have a weakness for your black backgrounds...
With a beautiful lightning, they will be magnificent!
( I wish you and your loved one a wonderful St Valentin with a lot of excellent chocolates! :)

    1. Thanks, Sim - I'm with you all the way. In art school one of our teachers asked us to create the same abstract designs - one on black and one on white. It was black all the way for me, and has been so ever since.

Happy Love Day to you, Sim, with chocolates galore! xo

  2. Lucky for my hubby I made extra Valentine cards last year as this week has been crazy. My mum has gone in a nursing home for physio so we've been taking stuff she needs and went for the vaccine too so couldn't get my head round much else. Loving the journal and well impressed with the progress you've made. Take care and happy crafting, Angela xXx

    1. Sending warm wishes for your mom as she goes through her physio. Here's hoping it does the trick for her, and all the extra love energy around Valentine's Day this week gives her a massive boost. And of course you made extra cards last year - you are so the queen of extras! xo

  3. Just loving the vibrancy of those colours on the black. The background really makes them pop. And I will definitely have some chocolate for you :) My latest experiment was curry truffles, which sound yuk but are surprisingly delicious (and I have impartial taste testers who say so, so it's not just a weirdness in my own palate!

    1. Those curry truffles sound REALLY interesting, and if you've got some impartiality in your testers, they're likely to be delicious!!

  6. Super cool pages, Win, I really like the patterns in the 'Repetition' one. I'm not worried about eating chocolates on Valentine's Day - I can resist chocolates, not a huge fan - it's Pancake Day I'm worried about LOL! Thanks for your visit and enjoy the rest of your weekend. Hope you can move back into your studio soon. xx

    1. Thanks, Zsuzsa - I like those patterns as well. Like you, I can leave chocolate alone; my downfall is cookies - of any type. So guess what I've been baking during the pandemic? Cookies, of course. :D

  7. You are making progress on your black and white journal. Black and white is a change for you but the pages are looking great. I suspect one idea starts several more thoughts.

    1. That's so true, isn't it, Eileen? Creativity begets creativity, so one just needs to show up and practice!

  8. Win, Your black & white journal is coming together wonderfully well. I have to say that even though I love many colorful things. Black just sets the colors off, doesn't compete and frames everything so beautifully. I especially love your "Repetition Aids
Comprehension" page...gorgeous. I even love black when it comes to clothing too I always feel better when I have something black on.
Beautiful work my friend, keep on keeping on. Hugs

    1. Many thanks, Deann - I am such a fan of black it can be a challenge for me to work on anything else at times, and I wear mostly black just to set off a pop of colour. I love that repetition page too - gel pens on black are just such a knockout! Sending massive hugs, my friend.

    1. Corrie, I think you'd LOVE working on black - your colours already sing, and doing so would have them producing a full opera! xo
