We're nearing the end of the year...

...and in our family, it's the silly season.  We've played Cranium, done half a dozen puzzles over the holidays, and a little 5 x 5" thingy that looks like studio play even if it wasn't done in the studio.

Patterning in gel pens on black cardstock

I rather suspect that working on a Klimt puzzle of this Adele Bloch Bauer painting is what has me, once again, pattern crazed.

And because we've been playing so much, I don't have a video tutorial for you today, so I'll give you a video gift of silliness to end the year...this one is all about me learning a new trick.  For years I've wanted to learn how to break an egg one-handed (just because my son can do it), and here's the proof that I did it at least once.  Warning:  mild profanity.  Outtakes included at no extra charge.

That's it for 2018, my year of pronoia.  Tune in next week for details about my word for 2019.  And in the meantime, I'm wishing you the happiest possible new year.  May it bring everything your creative heart could desire!

  3. Hi Win. How did you find the time to do all this. Love the jigsaw but it looks difficult and the egg breaking is a hoot but best of all was the cute face. Hope you mad good use of all those eggs xXx

  5. Just when I thought you couldn't make a more better background, I am jumping up and down at your gel pen pattern, I can hardly wait to find a way to use that gem.
Your video's mild profanity made me laugh out loud. I always knew you were a woman after my own heart, now I know my Grandma would have loved you too. When she thought someone was a little too uppity I would hear her mumble "She would's say shit if she had a mouthful. You are an egg crackin' mamma.
Best wishes my friend for a Happy healthy peaceful and creative New Year.

    1. Well, I'm jumping up and down at what you might do with the gel pen pattern, Deann - I know it's likely to be a doozy!

Glad to know the profanity didn't offend - I'll have to try harder. :D No doubt your Grandma, you and I would have a blast together were it possible...egg crackin' all the way.

Best of the New Year to you, my friend...happy 2019! xo

  6. Love it! You learned a new skill and gave me a smile into the bargain. Breaking an egg with one hand is not in my skill set, but then, I only use eggs for baking as I don't eat them any other way. I've a feeling my poor family would have to eat a lot of omelettes or scrambled egg were I to try.
Have a wonderful new year and keep on trying new things. I shall be trying my hand at blacksmithing as my wonderful husband and daughter bought me a masterclass. Can't wait :)
