Bookish...

...must be my middle name.  I love them - all sorts - whether reading, altering or making them.  So when considering what kind of thank you would be appropriate for our realtor, Carol Geurts  (she is literally magical in every sense of the word), a book seemed quite appropriate.

It was sent to her, wrapped in a double-sided map paper envelope,

and filled with photos of wonderful cottages - the same feeling I get when I settle into the condo daily.

About 8" in height and 4" wide,

it was a pleasure to compile.

Carol's dedication to the sale of our house (four days from listing!!!) to finding us the perfect condo (day 5)

made our move pure delight.

I think you should all move to Creston, BC, Canada just so you can work with her -

you'd make a great friend, find a wonderful home,

and then you could come and play with me regularly in-studio!

We could all make books together, couldn't we?

Carol kindly posted a lovely note and photo essay on Facebook when she received the booklet, so this post is a thank you to the thanker about a thank you from the thankee...you'd think we were Canadians, we're so polite!  😃

Catch me up on your latest doings in the comments below - I'd love to hear what's floating your book boat this week!

  1. What a beautiful gift! Taking the time to say a special 'thank you' is so worth it. Just letting someone know that you appreciate their work or act of kindness or whatever can brighten their day and wipe out a whole slew of difficult moments.

    1. Absolutely, Tracy - Carol went so far above and beyond that it was truly magical. She deserves a medal for all that she did. I was, and still am, in awe of her work. She's an amazing woman.

  2. What a fantastic little present, Win! It didn't even occur to us to give a present to our realtor (known here as estate agents) as they're known to be vultures, who are only in business to rip you off. Carol sounds lovely in comparison! I wish we had estate agents like her over here! I did regret not giving anything to the removal guys though, who were wonderful and worked so hard to transfer all our belongings on moving day. Sounds like you're all settled now. It always feels like you're on holiday for the first few months, doesn't it?

    1. Thanks, Zsuzsa - we have some of those realtors here, but we've been lucky so far. And Carol tops the list by such a long way that we couldn't find enough good things to say about her. Our movers (removal guys :D) were awesome, too, and that's far less likely to happen. Bless them all!

It is really quiet and clean at my house this week but not nearly as much fun.
We just bought an inversion table so I've been hanging around upside down. (are old ladies suppose to do that??) anyway it has helped my back alot. I hope your back survived all that moving...have a great week.

  9. Well hello Win bookish! heehee
Ahh a lovely booklet with fabulous words and art- So glad Carol received it safely!

My life has been out in the gardens as of late. I am ever so happy to be able to do things again! My husband told me yesterday, with tears on his cheeks, that he thought he had lost me and my old self when all that arm/neck pain had me. He actually said, he really thought i could not recover- I am so happy to report I am doing well! better than well and feeling like 100 bucks! Hoping to make some art later today- thanks for the cheerful posts!
    huge hugs,Jackie xx

  10. Oh, Jackie - I am so delighted to hear that you are doing so well. You sound like you're back to your usual ebullient self, and I'm so happy to know that. Your hubby must have been truly worried; it's wonderful that you've return to your normal! Sending massive hugs, Win
