I love the way the inks run on the white-on-white wallpaper. Here's a quick video of the technique
and some results of my play.
I turned that first one into a flower - it was the exact shade I needed for a journal page. You can see the start of it here, sitting on the wallpaper. It's quite a transformation, right?
I can hardly wait to see what our giggle does with them on Friday! What's your colour hit this week? I'd love to hear about it in the comments below.
I am excited about trying these inks.
ReplyDeleteThey're great fun, Eileen, and man way to play with them!
DeleteAlways so much fun to see what you are up to Win, Have fun Friday.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Val - will do!
DeleteHi Win. Oh dear Lol! another product that's got forgotten and you're so right, if we don't use them they will dry up or get dispatched Lol! I always love the effects you get with these inks so I had better get them out and use them. Thanks for reminding me. Big hugs, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteThat makes me laugh, Angela - while I've been downsizing I've found a TON of products and techniques that had been languishing...it's like having a second Christmas! :D
DeleteAbsolutely COOL Win - great effects, I will try this out soon!
ReplyDeleteVery exciting - maybe on gesso textures it works as well - wow !!!! Thank you for sharing the video! I love your videos! They are some of the best technique videos !

DeleteThanks, Susi - I LOVE alcohol inks for their intensity, and you're quite correct in thinking they'd work well with gesso (and modeling paste, and anything else that is textured!). Thanks for the kudos on the vids, too - that's great impetus to do some more once I've got the downsizing and move out of the way. ;-)
DeleteThese are totally fantastic Win! I'm just oohing and aahing here. I'm so going to try this - as in RIGHT NOW. I have all the supplies! It's been ages since I used alcohol inks - they might have even dried up! (hope not!) Have fun with your giggle friends!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it, Zsuzsa - it's so much fun and the colour punch is awesome. Fingers crossed they're still good for you and you can giggle with your friends as well. :D
DeleteGorgeous! I'll have to try and find some similar wallpaper.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can, Sarah - if not, see the comments above. It's fun with gesso texture, modeling paste and more!
DeleteAlcohol inks and blowing through a straw - seems like a recipe for lightheadedness! I'm sure you must have needed a lie down after all that creating ;)
ReplyDeleteI was the lucky recipient of some of your inky wallpaper in a swap, once, and it added some lovely texture and depth of colour to a few journal pages. Have you used alcohol inks on a gelli-plate? It's another great way to use up supplies.
I hope the sorting is going well and you're on track for the proposed move. In about a month the removals company will be starting to box up our stuff and then it's at sea for a couple of months...
Light-headed indeed, Tracy...it's great fun!
DeleteAnd I do love the way that the alcohol inks on wallpaper add texture to things...journal pages included. Yes, I've used them on Gelli plates as well - another pleasure!
We are on track and heading now to our self-imposed deadline of March 1 to have the house up for sale. I'm wishing you luck, as well - may it go easily and quickly for you! xo
I am love with that sepia one!!
ReplyDeleteHow fun and I am squeeeeeeeeeeeing all over with this color parade Win!!(ewe! that didn't sound right!LOL)
Have fun with your giggle gaggle and we will look forward to your results...btw...how's the packing coming? heeheee
love you,Jackie
So fun, right Jackie? Mouth-watering colour and lots of play! I'm looking forward to the giggle gaggle this morning, and expect to see a whole lot of fun combinations! Sending that love right back atcha, my artsy friend! xo
DeleteCan you feel the earth shaking, that is me jumping for joy at those gorgeous potential backdrops and layers you have created. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteMy color hint...I like to use contrasting colors (colors across from each other on the color wheel) in my pictures because they add interest and draw your eyes. Like the yellow and purple on your flower.
You SO make me laugh, Deann! Have at it! Like you, I love working with complements; I'm often hard pressed to choose between them and analogous colour and my colour piggery gets into fisticuffs! :D There's just no end to colour lusciousness, is there?!
DeleteWow ! What a great effect ! Love them.. Can't wait to see what your giggle of girlfriends are going to do with these lovely backgrounds !
ReplyDeleteCorrie x
It's a great technique, Corrie, and for colour pigs, something that can go on and on and.......well, you get it! Way fun!
