The diversity of your artwork is amazing. I thought I had a broad set of interests but you are all over it babe... Beautiful creations.
ReplyDeleteSo many things to try, right Deann? How can anyone stick to a single medium/modality when the flavours are infinite?! xo
DeleteHi Win. I so love that rain barrel, I've a mind to go out and paint all mine they are brilliant! Gorgeous textural pieces too, scrummy! Have a great crafty weekend, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteThat rain barrel fundraiser was great fun, Angela, and really encouraged all four of us to do something really different from our normal work. The organizers had all the barrels steam cleaned and we tore into them with alkyds - we started by each choosing a colour and a shape and things quickly degraded from there! :D
DeleteI remember artists painting the rain barrels in Canmore. I had no idea you did one! I lusted over the Sarah Kidner barrel.
ReplyDeleteThere are some familiar faces in this post - especially the Impossible Clock (pun intended). Folks need to know that it's a mammoth piece at 42" in diameter, I think. Also it's stunning in Real Life!
Those rain barrels were fun - I worked with Anne, Alison and Louise on it, which meant silliness ensued in spades! And yes, I should have put dimensions on all the pieces - that clock is massive! xo
DeleteIt's not too late to add dimensions. It's more a question of do you have time? I think not!
DeleteDefinitely not this week, but maybe on Monday. :D
DeleteNow that was a treat of SCRUMPTIOUS YUMMINESS - one right after the next. I so love seeing your art Win. I saw the CREATIVITY VIRUS in every piece.... and it got me... Off to play. Smiling now thinking of the huge art adventure you playshop participants will have with you this weekend. Xj.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed it, Joi. I'll be thinking of you playing in your studio, paint flying and creativity abuzz! Have a TON of fun! xo
DeleteGreat yummies here and just so you know...you made my day happier and brighter with this beautiful post...Thank You very talented lady~
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to know that it's brightened your day, Jan - all the texture and colour sure makes me happy, too!
DeleteWhat a fantastic retro rain barrel and I specially love this great tag! And all the backgrounds and other fascinating pieces!
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up with your amazing art and imagination!
Happy weekend Win Dinn!
oxo Susi
Thanks Susi - there are just SO many ways to play, right? Who has more fun than artists?!!! xo
DeleteI love everything that you shared in this post. Awesome techniques and backgrounds. The barrels are so fun! As someone who likes to make tags, of course I loved your gorgeous tag and It was great to have another look at your fabulous clock. As I came to the end, I have to say, something about that wonderful piece called "We Stand Together" literally reached out and grabbed me! I love love love it! Thanks you for sharing such treasures
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Kimberley. The barrels were a blast, and the tag is a definite favourite. We Stand Together is one of my favourite paintings, myself - my husband John scored the two nails from somewhere in the back forty, and they were his all-time best score for me! ;-)
DeleteIt was a very difficult choice but I have to say that "Conflicted" is my favorite! It continues to boggle my mind how one can be such a versatile artist! Your work continues to inspire me!!
ReplyDeleteThat makes me smile in so many ways, Kay. Conflicted uses a hand-cut stencil I made of my niece when she was acting in a play in Calgary. It was a favourite photo of mine as well. Thanks so much for your kind words, especially dear from one who inspires me so greatly. xo
DeleteOoh, just loving that tag, Win! It looks like bark, and, as with a lot of your work, I just wanna reach out and stroke it :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your registrants will have a magical time and go home with piles of luscious papers and fabrics - and painty hands, of course.
It was exceptionally textural, Tracy, even for me, and I definitely agree about the bark. Layers of drywall compound and distressed paper, plus a wee bit of coffee grounds if memory and eye serves! You're right about the painty hands - you'll perhaps see a pair in today's post! :D
DeleteWonderful shares Win! And you must know, the Impossible Clock is my fav!
ReplyDeletehugs,Jackie xx
That's a massive (42" diameter) favourite of mine, as well, Jackie, mostly because it didn't turn out to be so impossible after all, in spite of being nine months in the making. Like birthing a baby - painful, difficult, challenging, but not quite impossible! :D xo
DeleteI got your wonderful packages full of surprises and I am looking at these with a whole new appreciation. I had no idea the brilliance and texture you could create they are even more beautiful in person. Thank you for sharing your art with me.
ReplyDeleteYour envelope flew off a few days ago so it should be there soon. Remind me someday to tell you of my Post office adventures mailing ATC's.
Many thanks, Deann - I'm delighted that the package has arrived for you...I'll be keeping an eye out for your parcel! I look forward to hearing your post office adventures...we can share stories! xo
DeleteWonderful art Win..
