It's the tail end...

...of fall in our area, and because we're so colourful here, I thought I'd share some of it with you.

Even if I don't spend time in the studio, I'm constantly on the lookout for the beauty around me, and this season we have it in abundance.  How does it look in your area - are you enjoying the beauty of the season?

  1. Beautiful photographs highlighting the gorgeous fall textures and colours. It's my favorite time of the year, but it doesn't last long enough. It's still pretty here, but soon the trees will be bare. We are enjoying a short mild spell. Take care, Shirleyxx

    1. I love these last gasps of fall, Shirley - I keep stumbling over my own feet as I fall in love with a particularly brilliant leaf as we walk the countryside, and my eyes want to soak up every bit of colour I find. Wishing you a fabulous weekend as you enjoy your tail end of it in Ontario! xo

  2. super photos Win! In the last few weeks I have regretted only having my cell phone with me (I can't seem to take good photos with it) as the views in the valley have been so colourful - or interesting. I guess I need to practice with the phone - lol

    1. I'm a terrible Luddite, Val, so I work only with the camera, although I have friends to manage beautifully with their phones. I agree that practice (at anything) seems to be the key! :D

  3. Oh Win - these photos are STUNNING. Once again... you made my day. Why? Because here at the ranch there is not one single leaf of any color but green or dead!!! It's still in the 80's here in Texas. Soooo this was PURELY DELIGHTFUL to see. Thanks bunches and bunches. Xj.

    1. Wow - in the 80's! That's SO hot, and so far from our rain-drenched fall it's hard to imagine! Glad to add some colour to your day, Joi! xo

    1. Gotta love that colour, Roz, even if it's at the opposite end of the world from you as you head through your spring!

  5. Love all that gorgeous colour! We're just about hitting spring now - it's late this year after an awful lot of rain, floods etc. The new greens are coming out, the reds of the bottlebrushes, and the purple of the jacaranda.

    1. We're fortunate to live in an area where maple, oak and a host of colourful vegetation abounds. Fall is an incredibly beautiful sight here, as I imagine all your seasons in Auz to be as well. Happy spring my friend!

    1. Oh Corrie - I'm with you for the heat! I love it beyond measure when I'm sweltering, but the autumn colour makes up for a good bit of that!

  7. Oh What a FABULOUS post! I am so glad I get to share the beauty of that wonderful Crimson Sugar Maple in your front yard when I drive by. You captured perfectly the feel of our area this time of year. This being my first fall here in the Creston valley all my senses have been in a state of constant exhileration... Happy sigh. Who KNEW that fall could be this warm, this beautiful and smell THIS GOOD! Grin

  10. In my mind Fall is the best time of year, I don't know why but autumn leaves and the wonderful colors just make me joyful I can never get enough. Thank you for sharing your beautiful variety of leaves and colors.

  11. We had some beautiful colour here as well, but most of the leaves have fallen now. My Aunt lives in Calgary and she doesn't really get the colours of Autumn, which is something she really misses. Often she will visit in October and we take her for a long drive just to see the colours. We are fortunate to have this change of season, because not everyone gets to experience it. Thanks for sharing the beauty!

    1. Oh, it's so true that Alberta is mostly colour-bereft in the fall, with yellow being the main intensity. I was delighted to move from there to this corner of BC which is very close to the eastern Canadian fall for its colouring...glorious!

  15. Beautiful leaves, Win! I think we have the same red tree in our garden. It's my favorite! Is it a Japanese maple tree? Happy Autumn, although we're heading into winter soon!

    1. Agreed, Zsuzsa, and yes, it's a Japanese maple. We have two large red eastern maples in the front yard, but I must admit I'm partial to the Japanese maple...SO rich!
