Three Friends, Three Mediums

How would we ever survive without our artist friends?  Creating is inherently a self-contained and introspective pastime - yet if we didn't have our friends to share our creatives lives, it would be too much so.

Eileen Gidman and Laura Leeder (in alphabetical order, first and last names!) have been good friends since The Painted Turtle Gallery days, and we've joined together once again, this time in the Creston Library.  This past Saturday we had a pleasant morning of installation, under the benevolent eye of Val van der Poel, the tireless volunteer coordinator for both the library and the Chamber of Commerce displays.

I was particularly pleased to see this embellished Gelli plate print show up at the library - it was started by Eileen in the previous weekend playshop I taught at the college, and it's a knockout!

As you can see, our work is all colourful,

and with watercolour, textile and mixed media,

it creates a lively and interesting show.

On through July and August at the Creston Library,

it's sure to make your book-choosing time a brighter one.

And while you're in the mood for art, why not check out the Art in the Chamber as well?

In the meantime, we wish you well, and happy summer viewing!
