Playtime is not just for paintings...

...because when I get in the studio, time can involve bookish things as well.  This green book from the rainbow series was finally finished this week entirely due to the push from a journal playdate this past Friday.

Here are the back and front covers, followed by an even greener interior (if that's possible):

Now I have to tell you that the word of the day on Friday's play date was CROOKED...and you can see in the photos that I took it to heart, ran with it and scored half a dozen touchdowns.  As always, I'm slightly square-challenged when it comes to photos (oh, and also rectangular- and straight-on challenged), and have displayed that to the max here.  😃  I will point out that I wasn't the only one.  ☺

I hope you've managed your middle 'G' this week - greatness, gentility, gratitude, genius, grace or whatever word's your fancy. Catch me up on your doings in the comment section below, please...and add a link if you like.

  1. Delightful as always Win! Did you choose the word crooked because wilfully wonky is two words, therefore disqualified?

    1. I near choked on my breakfast over that comment, Linda - OF COURSE it was because wilfully wonky is double-barrelled. :D xo

  2. What wonderful colour in your new book Win and so much imagination. I can't say I noticed the crooked but maybe my head was tilted - lol.

    1. I'm beginning to think my whole world is tilted, Val - the 'wilfully wonky' is weird beyond measure. It's definitely not you, my friend!

  3. Oh my Win! This is brilliant and I love the photographs you've used I am a lover of Pre-Raphaelite art and anything Nouveau or Deco. I actually have the lamp that you have on your last page, must post it sometime. Thank you for sharing this gorgeous journal. Happy creative week, Angela xXx

    1. Many thanks, Angela - given that I shy away from green (I find it a challenging colour with which to work), I'm pleased with the results. Art Deco, Art Nouveau, and anything Pre-Raphaelite can always pull me in, too; such beauty!

  4. Win Your Green Book is beautiful and inspirational. What do you do with your books when they are finished, they are such wonderful day books I love a little conscience jolt like your words each day to center me on reality.
This was a wonderful week on my Flickr challenge to create a collage from an old masterpiece, it was so much fun I couldn't stop. Your web picture was part of it there will be five more coming. It's so much fun to create something your really excited about.
You bring so much love into the world I hope you have a wonderful Valentines Day...with lots of chocolate.

    1. Many thanks, Deann - I most often gift the books when I'm done with them, and I'd be delighted to send this one to you. It's wonderful to read such appreciation for it!

I understand the compulsion to continue with something when you're enjoying it so much; I look forward to seeing some more of your wonders!

Thanks for the Valentine's wishes, and right back at you, with double chocolate, my friend. xo

    1. Thank you so much, Joi; I'm blushing! This was somewhat of a departure for me, and the thing near wrote itself. Happy Valentine's Day; hope yours is filled with a ton of love. xo

  6. A book of one colour - what a great idea! You could have a whole rainbow of them on the shelf which appeals to my 'colour sorting' mind (yes, I rearrange all the pens/crayons in the packets to flow nicely from one colour to the next.)

I didn't notice any crookedness until you pointed it out because I was too busy looking at all the lovely art.

Hope all your plans for moving are going smoothly. I feel we're on the steep downward slope of the back end of February now. Boxes are being delivered to Op Shops and I'm dusting fit to bust.

    1. So far I've managed the red, orange, yellow and green with a few more hues to go, Tracy! I'm with you on the colour sorting - it applies to nearly everything in the house, including, occasionally, clothes in the closet. :D

Glad to hear that you're on a roll with your long-distance move...wishing you all the best as you cross the oceans! xo

    Absolutely gorgous Win Dinn!
This is amazing I could 'study' your book for ages and admire every single square of it.
    Happy weekend my friend!

    1. Thank you so much, Susi...I am happy with the turnout given my rabid fear of the colour green. :D Have a great weekend across the pond, and thanks again! xo

  8. Great collection of delightful imagery in the Green Book. Opening with two Dante Gabriel Rossetti paintings the greens just kept on coming. Who knew you'd have time to make a book this month? Bravo!

    1. One just cannot beat the Rossetti paintings, right? They're fabulous and a great kick-off to any book. And I have to admit the book has been mostly done for several months, just needing a few short hours to add the text and covers. Onwards and upwards - look out turqoise, here I come! :D
