Oh how I love...

...Artist Trading Cards - the making, the shipping, and the receiving of them just give me such a sense of wonder.

These tiny little bits of art (2 1/2" x 3 1/2") slip so easily into an envelope and bring so much fun that sometimes I can't stop.  We had a trading session over at Creating & Sharing Mixed Media that got me totally jazzed.  That's a good thing, since the theme was all about songs.  The two trading cards could be based on a whole song, song title, line from a song or our favourite song, with a third one of any theme whatsoever.

I keep a healthy pile/stash/hoard of ATC 'blanks' for such opportunities, and I carefully chose three of them.

ATC Blanks

And then it got really tough, because I Could. Not. Stop.

ATC Backs

I enjoyed listening to hours of music so much that I've decided to go back to my original life plan of becoming a world-renowned vocalist.  Stay tuned (pun intended).  In the meantime, these cards have gone into an envelope carefully crafted from two colour-coorinated Gelli prints, stapled, glued and taped together so tightly that the recipient will have no chance of EVER getting into them.

So, here's the scoop - I want to make more.  Do you want to receive one?  If you're into trading with ATC's, here's your change to get an original Win Dinn Artist Trading Card.  Just email me  and I'll happily get into Make Mode just for you.  It's an open theme, so get creative!

    1. Thanks, Jan - it's funny how one goes in stages. When I was in a larger centre where ATC trading sessions were frequent, it was a compulsion. Now I need to do it online as we're such a small community here!

  3. Looks like you had a great time, Win. Maureen Cameron tried to get people in the valley excited about ATC's a number of years ago but nobody wanted to play I guess because it didn't go anywhere. I hope you get lots of takers. Have a great day!

  5. Indeed such a very small size to work on! Kudos to you for getting so fired up about making, sending and receiving artist's cards!
I say everyone should do whatever makes them happy - and you're doing just that!
What I've just written reminds me of a favoured line from a song in the musical HAIR:
"... kids, be free, be whatever you are, do whatever you
want to do, just so long as you don't hurt anybody."
If you'r not familiar with the song My Conviction you'll be spared the ear worm! xox

  8. Love your creative spirit Win! My favourite is the dancing one with the vintage image. Is that a transfer? Great idea to put lyrics on the back of the ATCs.

    1. That vintage image is a 'skin' made from an old photo I found in my stash (I think it was one my grandmother took when she was in her teaching years). Truth be told, I put the lyrics on the back as a start in case the recipient wanted to search out the titles...I know most of them are of a totally different era! :D

  9. Oh what a delight in my former life I made and sold ATC cards on Ebay haven't made any for years but I probably have a few around somewhere. I'll look them up and Email you.
I adore the song lyrics idea.

P.S. Next time you visit the Asylum check out "Contemplating Bubbles" I used a double layer of your backgrounds which really added something special...I love how this one turned out, even if I do say so myself.
