ATCs...

...are so much fun.  I love having these little masterpieces from around the world so close at hand.

This last while, I received a fabulous package of them from an Auzzie friend and trading partner, Roz Willoughby, as a result of a recent trade request in a blog post.

These are so richly textured they're drool-worthy - take a look!

Not only did she send the half dozen gorgeous cards, but she also sent a piece of tin she'd embossed - you know it's going to show up somewhere in one of my journals.

There is nothing like an envelope of happy mail to get the creative juices flowing, so I'm back in the studio finding more ways to texture my own work.  Many thanks for the inspiration, Roz!

  1. What do you do with the ATCs that you get - put them in a special binder or mount them somehow so that you can always enjoy them easily? These are lovely and well worth having on display.

    1. I have a binder for them, Val, and often take it out and peruse it for inspiration and colour pleasure...love my ATCs! And if you want to trade anytime, do let me know - I'd love to have one of yours in there!

    1. They are truly fabulous, Roz - and congrats on getting the salt technique to work. It's one that has eluded me forever, so you'll need to come and play with me to share your secret.

  5. Salt technique?
These are really terrific, I especially like the last one with the "bubbles".
Texture is second only to colour in your art world Win!

    1. I made the assumption that Roz used the salt technique in the background of the red pieces, but perhaps I'm wrong, Rob? And yes, Alice - colour will always be my first love, with texture running a pretty close second!

  6. Those are some very interesting and lovely ATC's, the techniques are so cool. I am really spoiled by computer art I decided I have lost contact with the real art world. If the power ever goes out I will have to start over with a pencil and paper.

    1. Aren't they, Deann? I love all the texture Roz has achieved. Somehow I cannot imagine you reverting to pencil and paper, though - no matter the power outage! :D
